Just what you would expect. A nice reasonably priced tap set. I needed them to tap oversize threads in an old Remington rifle receiver. Would buy again. Nice to get all three taps.

When this item was purchased the listing stated that this tap set was American-made.These are Chinese taps that are hardly suitable for wood, let alone using on steel.

I normally read the low reviews to see how bad the product can be. I didn’t this time and I got burned.I used this tap to remove the threads of a broken off bolt in a blind hole. First of all, there wasn’t what I considered to be a true plug tap in the box so I filed some of the point off the least pointed tap.I was able to chase the threads with “2-finger†pressure about 2 1/2-3 threads deep. As soon as I slightly increased the pressure, the tap snapped off in the hole. The break was diagonal so I think that goes to the lack of quality too. Fortunately a sliver protruded above the surface and, with heat, penetrating fluid and gentle pressure, I was able to back it out.These are junk.

Did not look like any bottoming tap I have seen, had to grind off tip to use as a bottoming tap. Use plenty of tap magic and go slow back out and clean off chips.

I received the set that said in contained a taper tap, plug tap and bottom tap. There was no bottom tap. I got 2 taper taps and a plug tap. Unfortunately I was only able to thread one hole and the cutter seemed to "flatten" out as it entered the pre-drilled hole. I don't know if it will cut threads into another bore unless it is very soft metal. I was disappointed that the quality just isn't there.
