I tend to look for things made out of bamboo because I like the look of it and it is sturdy, with a minimalistic design. Its my personal preference, so when I saw this I immediately wanted to get it. I put it together, and left the protective plastic in place. The frosted look is kind of cool and it looks like it might be hard to remove that protective layer because the edges are up under the bamboo. I might remove it at a later time if it starts to get really scratched up, but for now, it is fine and I can see through it well enough. I would probably scratch it up just trying to remove it so maybe better to let sleeping dogs lie. :)I did almost get a splinter in my finger because the edges are not sanded or rounded off and as I was putting it together I noticed that there are sharp little splinters sticking out on several of the pieces. If I was the only person handling the crate, I might not be concerned but I don't want anyone else that goes through my records to get a splinter so that is kind of a bummer and something that I will have to address. Also the fasteners are just plain flat-top wood screws, not the shiny plated ones shown in the pictures. If it was finished a little better and used better fasteners, it might be worth what they are asking. Still I do like the color of the bamboo. So many other options and it pays to read reviews!

Overall: Recommended! Fine for record storage. It can definitely be tricky to put together but just work at it and it will work out. Decent value. Worked for us! Cheers

This is a nice storage crate for vinyl records. Once it's put together it is very solid and you can fill it full of records and carry it without worrying about it falling apart. It is a bit difficult to put together and it's a huge help if you have someone who can help hold the pieces when you put the first two together (after that it's pretty easy to do alone). The screws I got were also a bit different from the ones in the picture... they are golden in color and have flat heads as opposed to the silver round head ones pictured.I took a star off because the plastic windows are covered with a protective film that is fairly difficult to get off. I wasn't able to just pull it out from under the wood frame and had to run a pocket knife blade around the edge of each window (on both sides) to get it to come off cleanly. The film also produces a ton of small plastic flakes that got everywhere and that was annoying.Once you get past that it's a nice crate, but it was a longer process to put together than I expected it would

I found this vinyl record holder to be very easy to put together with the included instructions. The wood does feel lightweight and I did end up splitting it in one section, although it is not very noticeable. I like that this is lightweight and that I am able to use it for purposes outside of record storage. As a crafter, I often need different sets of decorative paper at hand and this bin fits my 12“ x 12“ paper without any difficulty. Overall, this looks great sitting on my desk and I love the appearance of it.

This vinyl record storage crate has a sleek bamboo design that adds a modern touch to my bedroom. It’s perfectly sized to store vinyl records but versatile enough for other uses, and I especially appreciate the acrylic sides that prevent items from slipping through the slats. However, removing the protective film from the acrylic was way more difficult than it should have been, which was quite frustrating. Otherwise, the assembly was straightforward but definitely easier with an extra pair of hands. Despite the minor annoyances this product has, it’s a nice storage option.

This record storage crate does its job. There’s nothing fancy about it. However, it definitely fits records well and will hold plenty. It’s perfect for someone starting their collection. One thing I found a very annoying and inconvenient about this crate was that it is shown with clear plexiglass windows. However, when they come in the box, there is a plastic covering on them to protect them from scratches. It has a frosted-like appearance to it. It’s great that they are protected. However, it is very frustrating to peel them off, because the coating was put on prior to the plexiglass being mounted in the wood sides. So essentially, you have to score the plastic and then remove it carefully. Be prepared to spend a little bit of time getting this crate ready for use.
