*****Update******:VIVOSUN Customer Service reached out to me and sent a replacement roll right away. They informed me that the first roll was a manufacturing defect. I am very pleased with this new mylar film roll. I am even more pleased in the level of service I received from VIVOSUN. I plan to continue purchasing from them whenever possible, knowing they stand behind their products. Well done!________________________________________(Previous Review):I am pretty happy with this Mylar film. Didn't experience any streaking, but I did notice that it is easy to create streaking/scratches if you are not careful. You will want to take care to unroll the film on a clean smooth surface; any abrasion may leave streaks/scratches easily. It is pretty thin (only 2 mil. thick), but it is surprisingly durable. I used a staple gun to hang some sheets. Even after some serious tugging/pulling, even stepping on the bottom, the film didn't tear or come loose -- there was some streaking/scratcges though with minimal contact. This film is not forgiving when it comes to scratches.I will say it is very reflective. Although, It is translucent. You can clearly see what is on the other-side, when looking into a lit room, from a dark room. It is comparable to some serious limo tint. 1 layer thick and it block almost all the light from coming through. But again, it is possible to see through it.This film is also very rigged. It doesn't fold well, it wants to retain its original shape -- but it does wrinkle without too much difficulty. Makes it a little difficult to double up. Honestly, not much light penetrates using a single layer though. This film would be much better with a black poly backing.I would recommend this to a friend as a cheap option for Mylar film. However, I would heavily suggest substituting the 7 mil version instead.

It's a cheap but effective prop for my photography. Gives nice effects.

When I first started using Mylar paper I would use the folded up version. It was the only version I could find. Until I came across this roll. I was so happy! It is highly reflective as described. Thick quality. Easy to store. And super easy to cut. It reflects the light beautifully on a backdrop. And gets the job done. Intend of having to constantly adjust the folded version. This lays perfectly and stays in place for the most part. You won’t be disappointed in your purchase!

I have created a mirror dimension in my closet. A wrinkly one. It is reasonably tear resistant but tape the staples to keep tears from appearing if you use them. One thing worth noting if you’re building a tent for photoperiod plants is that it’s not opaque - you can more or less see through it even if it reflects 90+% of light. Blackout curtains can be found cheap, you might consider it for sides prone to light leaks.

Decided to cover the top of a pergola to make it cooler because it’s black. We figured that we could pull it back of again when it’s cooler and then the black surface would warm us. Well, the reflective surface worked so well that the under side of the trees were getting sunlight. So the leaves were getting twice the normal sunlight and were wilting. Had to pull it off 😪

I used mylar to create this studio set at Night Flower Boudoir. I love how easy to use it is and how thin the material is too. Basically weightless and highly reflective.

This is a good product if you’re putting up against a wall but keep in mind that this is translucent. The light will come though unless is has something behind it. I wish i knew that before I bought it.

This is a huge roll. You really get your money's worth. I am really impressed that the mylar is strong but thin. I am using this for a craft project. Great value for the $

This stuff is amazing. Its semi transparent so on top of using it for a grow it works great for blocking sun but still being able to see out of the windows in summer. I have lowered my ac usage quite a bit using a couple strips down my patio door. It blocks out all the heat and keeps the cold in. As far as using it for a grow it will double your lights output visually. That does not mean its actually twice as much light but its extremely reflective. I use it on any non organic light absorbing surface like shelving and between grow bags etc. as well as on the floor, walls and ceiling.

I don't know if this has any worth purchasing for light concentration over normal light colour or glossy paint on a wall, the impact doesnt seem significant enough to justify the purchase solely for that objective after I tried it. it does however help preserve heat in the said environment. It is a great product for reflecting radiating heat. So due to the nature of this product and how it would be most valuable I think the price aint too bad. If you are using a grow light, most grow lights have reflectors or directional lighting, so investing in this only to pick up residual lighting, is 100% not worth your money if your lighting setup is well planned out. Do be mindful that it wrinkles very easily if not manipulated gently upon application or pressed against another surface that is not 100% flat, and by flat I mean... the definition in the dictionary, nothing extra. Or it will print all imperfections on the film itself.

Used to make DIY grow tent and it worked great! For the price, it was worth it to buy the 100ft roll to have extra for other projects or if I tear this tent down I can rebuild. Very reflective on both sides and strong but easy to cut with sharp knife or scissors. Good if you don't want to spend money on expensive grow tent and don't mind constructing one with cardboard and tape. Easier with 2 people to work with in large parts to avoid accidental creasing but it is very resilient to creasing in general.
