I use this in conjunction with a relay to control a 1000w pure sine wave inverter. All the inverters I looked at had ridiculously low voltage cut offs, typically around 10v. That will kill hundreds of dollars of AGM's to save a couple of bucks in these and condiments in my fridge. I used this to set it to 12v, and kills the relay / turns off the inverter before damaging my batteries. Working great.Update 7/26: just bought another for use as an overvoltage cut off to backup a 250ah LiFePO4 internal BMS.

While the inverter and bms are supposed to talk to each other, having an additional hardwired low voltage protection provides me with a great deal of peace of mind as my wife and kids use the solar system without a lot of thought.This goes to an automatic transfer switch (well, it’s a bit more complicated than that, but for our purposes that’s good enough detail) and has two types of hysteresis - voltage and time. Both are important for system where the load is large and the battery pack not excessively huge - a large load on the system might cause it to trip then when released the voltage might come above the upper point - the time delay ensures that if that’s the case then it won’t switch more frequently than the period set in the timer.I’d prefer a longer timespan than 15 seconds - measured in minutes - but for worst case scenario protection (which is what this will be, this is fine.
