Bought for 2003 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO which was having issues with constant dead batteries due to not charging. Main symptom was battery would die and did not see any "extra" voltage at the battery. Only whatever the battery had before it would die.To install this, I had to cut off the connectors to fit my machine. However, I think my machine was hacked up a bit by the previous owner and my guess is that the connectors were not what it came with, so not deducting any stars for that. Once I got good connections I would see around 12.5V at idle and it would go to just over 14V when the engine was revved.I bought a new battery and we just put over 300 miles on this machine trail riding in Maine. No issues at all. Electric start was fine, lights were bright, and speedo/gauge cluster worked (which it hadn't in some time).
