About this item

  • The Diamondback HD 2000 laser rangefinder with 7x magnification and a 24mm objective lens, gives hunters a 2,000 yards max range (1,400 yards on game); perfect for hunting in the Midwest and the Great Plains.
  • The HD optical system uses select glass elements to deliver exceptional resolution that cuts chromatic aberration and provides outstanding color fidelity. XR lens coatings provide maximum light transmission for peak clarity and low light performance.
  • The red OLED display stays clear in low light, and to match any hunting environment, the Diamondback HD 2000 has two target modes (Normal and Last), two ranging modes (HCD and LOS), and is tripod adaptable.
  • Built to handle tough situations, the rangefinder uses ArmorTek coatings to protect the lenses. Rubber armor provides a secure, non-slip grip and durable external protection. Waterproof and shockproof, the Diamondback 2000 will hold up on your next hunt.
  • The included soft carry case will provide you with easy access to your rangefinder whether in the field or at the range.
  • Backed by our unlimited, unconditional, lifetime, VIP Warranty. A fully transferable promise to repair or replace your item if it becomes damaged/defective. Does not cover loss, theft, deliberate damage or cosmetic damage that doesn't hinder performance.

Diamondback HD 2000 Laser Rangefinder (LRF-DB2000)

When your hunt means ranging big game at 1,000 yards and beyond, your laser rangefinder needs the horsepower to go long and the toughness to stand up to the field. The Diamondback HD 2000 laser rangefinder gives hunters 2,000 yards max range, and 1,400 yards on game. 7x magnification helps you see farther, and an HD optical system means you can pick apart the landscape and stay pinpointed on your quarry. The red OLED display stays clear in low-light, and the Diamondback HD 2000 is tripod adaptable to get the most out of its range.

HCD (Horizontal Component Distance) Mode

The HCD range display is intended to be the primary mode—used for most rifle and archery shooting conditions. The yardage number displayed is the critical horizontal component distance.

The displayed HCD yardage number is corrected for shot angle and needs no extra user input; shooters simply use the appropriate level ground drop and wind adjustment for the range displayed and shoot. Archers use the appropriate level ground sight pin for the range displayed and shoot.

Use the HCD range mode in the following situations:

• Rifle shooting on level ground at any range.

• Rifle shooting out to ranges of 800 yards with mild slopes (less than 15 degrees).

• Rifle shooting out to ranges of 400 yards with moderate slopes (15 to 30 degrees).

• For all archery shooting.

LOS (Line of Sight) Mode

The LOS (Line of Sight) mode is intended for rifle shooters who are using slope correcting ballistic drop data cards, ballistic solvers and who are shooting at distances beyond 500 yards and with slopes greater than 15 degrees. Most shooters and archers will not need the LOS mode.

The range number displayed in LOS mode is the actual line of sight range with no ballistic correction for slope. Most of the commonly used ballistic devices can provide independent slope correction for drop data and require actual line of sight range input. Using the LOS range when calculating wind drifts under these steep slope/long range conditions will provide a higher degree of accuracy than using the HCD range.

To use, simply input the LOS range number into the electronic device or use the LOS range when referencing ballistic drop cards with slope correction.

Great product and backed up with Vortex. Rangefinder is easy to use and the clarity of object is great. You can adjust the focus if needed. Has manual control focus. Very accurate!!!

Works in low light and almost no light conditions. Glass is crystal clear. Accuracy is good, sub 1yd under 100yds up to 3-5yds at 2000yds. A standard CR2 battery will last for around 2000 uses at level 3 brightness and is easy to swap out. Measurement details are wrong, true measurements are at the bottom. I needed to change out the included case for something MOLLE/PALS compatible, a 5.11 Flex Cuff Pouch is the perfect size. Last thing IP54 is not waterproof, you can take measurements in the rain but probably not the best idea to try ranging fish but with the Vortex warranty you can try.Measurements are: 3.13"L x 1.55"W x 4.06"H (Without Clip) 3.13"L x 1.64"W x 4.06"H (With Clip)Edit: Preforms beyond specs. I've gotten readings up to 2381yds in the middle of the night on a non reflective hillside.

Works very well. Very pleased with functionality. Feels a little breakable. Had a nikon one before that felt very robust compared to this one. Overall a good product and worth the price for the lifetime warranty.

First one was trash and would not range anything. My son wanted to give Vortex another try. 2nd one works as it should and ranges everything like my old Bushy sport view 450. Glad we didn’t have to send back to Vortex for repair straight out of the box or he would have missed this whole season.

My son-in-law is a federal game ranger and an avid hunter, so I bought this range finder for him for Christmas. He loves it; my daughter says that he knows the distance to every building and tree within sight of their house now. Of course, I played with it before wrapping it, and I love the different modes that you select by pushing the button on top. Range nearest object and Range further object lets you sight through tree limbs and brush if the deer is obscured, but you can still see it. Clear as crystal and with a good range of vision, it lets you scan back and forth with ease, watching the range indicator change as you go. Well made and easy to clip on your belt to keep it handy. I highly recommend it.
