It's a great toy, my kids have a lot of fun with it. It is a little difficult to assemble the elicopter inside the fire truck but with the adult helper it is no problem.

Bought this for my nephew and he loved playing with it. Especially in T-Rex mode. He is rough on toys so it's nice to see something that is some what durable. The only concern is the LCD window on the Police car, which he enjoys slamming into things. I recommend making sure that the windshield of the Police Car is down to protect the LCD and minimize chances of any damage. The only downside is that this toy is top heavy in T-Rex mode. Unless you have the T-Rex in a just right pose this will topple over, a lot. Still if it does the toy is able to stand up to it.As for transformation. It takes trial and error, on paper it's easy and simple but the hardest parts are the connection of the helicopter to the fire engine. As you have to line things up just right to get them to snap together. Other than that not hard to disassemble and nephew is able to pick up on how to transform the three vehicles into T-Rex mode.

I got this for my nephew (8) for Christmas and he was obsessed. Had to watch a YouTube video on how to put it together but we picked it up quick.

It was a great toy. I bought it for my 8 year old because she really likes the Vtech Switch and Go toys. She likes it a lot because it's fun and a great T-rex. She won't part with it.I like it because it's not too loud like a lot of these sorts of toys with sound effects can be.However. It's heavy so be aware. The weight of the dinosaur makes the whole thing collapse and my daughter got her finger caught between the leg and the body. This is an 8 year old where a pinch like that can hurt but it doesn't cause injury. At this age she knows how it happened and how to avoid that. I can't recommend this for a younger age because we're talking smaller fingers and an inability to lift the toy to keep themselves from getting pinched. This can also be recurring for them. It's also heavy so it's hard for her to play with it like a kid would play with a typical toy. Lifting bending it over to attack other toys, etc. What's annoying as a parent is needing to reassemble it over and over again. Even for my 8 year old who can figure stuff out, the complexity makes it hard for her to do that on her own. It's nice to be have a reason to interact with her, but honestly having to come over and pop the head back on every so often so that she can continue to play can be bothersome sometimes. Hopefully she can figure it out.

Vtech's line of switch and go toys are the perfect alternative to transformers for younger kids. The 3-in-1 can be a little difficult to snap the upper body onto the lower body so this one may require assistance from an adult. It's still a great toy as 3 separate pieces. The 2-in-1 set is much easier for little kids to do on their own. Overall these toys and far less complicated than actual transformers toys so they are all still great toys for kids ages 4 - 6

The boys have been playing with Transformers for some time now, but the younger of the two, who could manage transforming those toys, has shown a strong preference for this toy. It is easier to switch between forms, and thus more satisfying for him.

Great concept, but there are SO many steps to assemble from 3 to 1 and back, it honestly is a miss for us. We were so excited and although the rest of this line of toys are used daily, this sits ignored.

Great toy! My son loved getting this. It was complex enough for him to play, but simple enough for him to do himself. Made really well and you will love VTECK toys.

So growing up my brother was a huge fan of transformers so I myself understand that kids love these toys so we got this for the kids/family who visit often to be in the box of toys in the rec room, I myself played around with it and found that the assembly and combining of the cars to form the T-rex was a bit tricky, the manual/directions were a bit hard to follow, though after combining and taking them apart multiple times I was able to figure it out, at first I thought I was doing things wrong because some of the parts required a considerable amount of force to especially with the helicopter into the connection holes, but I was able to transform it without any hassle after doing it so many times and was able to show my friends son how to make the T-Rex, I also like how it doesn't feel cheap with the materials and when combined it doesn't feel flimsy. Even the audio which has two modes with the police car or the T-Rex head was surprising, it has several voices of dialogue when playing or when you press the button, this is restricted to only the police car. For 60$ it is indeed a cheaper alternative to official transformer toys and would definitely make a great gift for a kid.
