I bought this tipper for my daughter whose been searching for the perfect bodhran for years, but it came with a very heavy very long very large tipper. she got the knack of it but has delicate hands & very small bone mass. finally found a tipper that’s absolutely perfect, what she wanted! feels grate. quality. she’s seen the pros using this exact one. we will be having a grate Christmas now!

That's what she said."It is nice and smooth with well formed ends.Feels good in the hand and will be fine for single ended playing only.If you want to use both ends in your playing I would recommend a longer tipper.Also, unlike the photo, this beater came with a natural finish. Not stained.But over time your hand oils will probably give it a nice patina.

I got this to give to a friend. She made a bunch of hand drums and gave me one. I thought this would be nice to give to her in return. The balance is great. It's got a nice finish. It's going to make a nice surprise for a drummer.

Length is ok (8 inches), but a little too light weight. Should work well, however, especially when you wish to play a little quieter. Very nicely crafted.

This tipper has specific applications for smaller drums. When I use it, I wrap a rubber band around the center indentation. The one I received measures a around 7 3/4 inches. The way it looks is about how it feels. It is medium weight, and its ends are obviously heavier than the rest. It tapers like crazy. Its narrowest part is a little smaller than a Sharpie marker. Its thickest part is a little wider than a Sharpie. I'd say this is not for a beginner, but a player who wants to experiment.
