I had one. My husband had one. Our kids had these. So it was totally natural to get one for our 5 year-old grandson who is obsessed with planets and space!He had never seen anything like this before - it's like the old "View Master" photo viewing toys from the 70s. He plays with it all the time - makes a great quiet time toy for when his baby brother is napping - and he loves to show everyone all the photos and tell them what they are.In a world where everything is electronic and screen-based, it's nice to see that young kids are appreciating old school type toys that provide fun and educational benefits. Nicely priced, lots of options for other themes and add-on discs that we can send him in the mail between birthdays and Christmas.

It’s really cool and should get it. Some things to note in there is a zoom in but it blurs more the closer you get? There’s 4 disc reel thingys with 14 pictures on each…so you may want to buy more but that can get pricey because as it looks if you want another six slide discs on amazon of your choosing they are usually $23. Other than that it is still really cool and you can actually make it seem day or night if u play around with the lighting with where you are.

Seemed like package had been opened and re-taped. Disappointing as it was for a gift, but of course a 4-year old doesn't know the difference.
