I've used it twice now, once with a buddy also using one (two 8k lb winches, both with snatch blocks) to pull people that are truly stuck. It's big and heavy (like maybe 8lbs and wouldn't fit in a glove box sort of big) but when it's nasty out and you need stuff to work you want your recovery gear to do the job.Figure it out for your own vehicle but for mine when winching I put it in neutral and stand on the brakes. No tug on the transmission and all the resistance is going to where it was designed to go: the brake pads directly to the wheels to the tires to the ground. Especially when you're talking about > 10,000 pulling pounds you don't want that force going into places like your transmission.

Awesome snatch block. Have used it several times to recover stuck vehicles. Pulled a 5th wheel camper trailer sideways across a muddy road to get the trailer off the edge of the drop-off. Snatch block performed well. (I'm running a smittybilt XRC 9500 lb winch).For size comparison, see the attached photo of the Superwinch 7750A (which I love, but is not available anymore), and a standard 3/4†bow shackle. This thing is kinda big and heavy, which is a good thing when it comes to vehicle recovery gear.

It’s a Warn, what more is there to say. A beast of a block in a slim package. I have two of them. One of them I’ve been using for 25yrs and it’s still perfect. I used the heck out of it too. Pulled buried tractors, tree stumps, trucks, you name it. I’ve easily put 16,000 lbs of force on it with no problem.

Warn only makes high quality stuff why go cheap Chinese HF type stuff it's not worth someones life when your loading up 1000's of lb's on a cable you want high end no junk that can come apart and hit someone or worse even yet your jeep goes over a cliff or something. The pulley can be greased and it sure turns smoothly.

Well built and compact. Will need a quick link or a snap hook (large) to attach to the anchor point. Recommend would purchase again.
