Hooked it up to my ring battery cam in my new birdhouse! Seems to be working perfectly! Much cheaper than the Ring solar panel.

See my original review in the next paragraph. I’m still using my original Wasserman solar panel with zero problems and 100% charging 95-100% of the time. Absolutely no down time. Since the original purchase I have added two more Wasserman’s, one for a backyard camera an another for a side yard sidewalk about three years ago. No prob with any of the panels or performance. Updated 11/25/2024.I didn't want to deal with battery charging so it made sense to consider a solar set up to keep my Ring camera fully charged and working for me. I chose the Wasserman Solar panel to get the higher amperage. Extremely easy to set up and connect. Take your time... you could do this in less than 15 minutes. But consider you location, make sure you can get the sunlight you need at the degree of inclination for both summer and winter. Change your inclination at spring and fall. My panel was white I mounted it on top of my roof rain gutter with sheet metal screws in a great location with a southern exposure. Because white is so obvious to any passerby or neighbors I masked the panel facing and spray painted in a mottled color of burn orange, black and tan to get the same appearance as my asphalt roofing tiles. It blends in well and is nearly invisible. Paint your wire to match your house and the unit disappears.. Perfect. The camera is fully charged 100% of the time. I'll try to remember to do a follow-up this December. Winter in the NW, at 47 degrees Latitude, can be pretty dark, rainy and cold.Right now I am considering ways to use another Wasserman on my sailboat to keep small electronic charged. In the case the attraction is size. Yep, I would buy again... you will too!

I have been using this for last 2 years, working good thus far, no issues at all. So I bought one more for my new camera. Good quality, fits well with ring outdoor camera and compatible.

I’ve had this panel since late July 2023. It’s not really in direct sunlight, but it gets enough to keep the two batteries in my ring camera charged. It worked well through the winter, too. We had a few heavy snowfalls and it worked perfectly. I opted for this one over the Ring panels (I have two of those) and it works just as well as the Ring panels, for a lower price.

Bought 2 of them with 2 spotlight cams I purchased. I already had a stickup cam installed for my driveway with a ring solar panel. After installing one of my spotlights on the side of my house I liked the picture and angle of view so I replaced my stickup with the other spotlight cam. I don’t want to change out solar panels so I used the ring on my new spotlight. I installed my stickup cam in my backyard and installed this solar panel, but after installation found out the plug on this panel does not fit a stick up cam despite saying it does. When you place the plug in it does not engage and is very loose and you can tell is not making a connection. I had to change out my ring solar panel to my backyard. I left the mounts in place. This panel fit in the ring mount with no issues, but the ring panel had a very tight fit on the mount that came with this panel. I was able to get it to latch. The panel charges well and it has kept my spotlight cam at 100% during the day. The mount that comes with this is nicer than the ring mount as it allows 360 degrees of rotation. The quality appears the same as the ring. I gave 4 stars because it does not work with the stickup cam as advertised.

The solar panels themselves are awesome, been using them for years on the four Ring Solar Cams around my house. But they do wear out over time and have to be replaced.Three I could mount on the eaves and get the panels into the sun, but on the back I can't due to the rain gutter. No one makes any kind of extended mounts for these that I could find, so I got all DIY on it!! I used a 2 foot piece of 1" PVC pipe I got at the orange home improvement store for less than $5. I cut the mount about an inch from the base (it tapers) and then using PVC pipe glue (because I had it, super glue probably works too) I put the ends of the mount onto the PVC pipe. It's fairly stable, but I may take some plumber's tape, make a loop around the end, and attach it to the underside of the eave to support it in the middle.

I was really surprised at the quality of the item considering it is quite a bit cheaper than the Ring solar panel. Even the box it came felt like it was going to be quality item. Ordered on Saturday arrived on Sunday albeit a bit late in the day but I still put it up temporarily to get the Ring Spotlight charged. Not sure where the best place is at the moment but a couple of cable ties around the gutter will give me time to see how much it charges up in that area. It had a 60% battery this morning and now its at 90% after a day of hazy sunshine so I know its working correctly. It also comes with screws and raw plugs for when I decide where it is going to be put permanently.

The solar panel is simple to install and works immediately to ensure that you really only need one Ring battery for your camera. In fact the solar panel is plug and play. There are no changes required in the app - it is fine.A word of warning comes however with Ring and the Ring product. In Australia, the Ring camera is about $260 and still needs the solar panel to ensure that you are not up and down ladders all the time to recharge batteries. But the biggest scam is that you must pay $40 a year for cloud back up of your movies - AND - I may be wrong, but as far as I can see, there is no way to download the movies, which means that in the event of an incident, you have nothing you can give the police.Wish, on the other hand sells several solar cameras with inbuilt TF cards, which also save video to your phone. These cameras are generally $100 AUD, but one or 2 without solar are in the region of $40.Why then did I buy a Ring camera? Well I bought two from other sources, but I thought that in buying a "professional" Ring camera, I'd be getting better face definition. But it turns out that this is not the case.So in summary - this solar panel is great - if you already have a Ring camera. But steer clear of Ring unless you want simplified installation and are happy to pay lots of money for something you get for free from others.

I've been using this solar panel for my Ring Cameras, and it's a reliable and efficient way to keep them powered up. It has been a month, and even during the harsh winter in Alberta, it has consistently kept my camera charged to full capacity. The installation was straightforward, and it has been working seamlessly since then. It's a great way to ensure that your cameras are always operational without frequent battery replacements. Overall, I highly recommend this solar panel for anyone looking to keep their Ring camera running smoothly. I'll give another update in about six months to comment on durability.
