So full disclosure -- I have not yet been able to install this descaler, as it will require some drywall and light plumbing work which I just haven't had the time to get to. Regardless, I am still impressed with this product, based on what I can observe. The 2 major reasons I ordered this were: 1) It's very large capacity/lifespan rating of 6yrs./600,000 gallons, and 2) the fact that it is salt-free. I actually expect the stated capacity to last even longer for us, as we are just a 2-person household, and that means I won't have to worry about this aspect of our water filtration/treatment for a very long time. And I specifically wanted a way to prevent scale without the waste and possible negative health and environmental consequences of a salt system. So I'm thrilled to have this system that is salt-free. Next, the unit is much lighter than I thought it would be. It's very easy to handle and maneuver, and thus I think installation will not be too difficult. And all of the necessary fittings and attachments for installation are provided (at least for my existing setup). And lastly, it is important that this system states that there will be "no noticeable change in water pressure". Obviously, I haven't been able to verity this yet, but if it works as stated, then I think it will be the perfect solution for the descaling component of our whole-house water system. And given the predicted lifespan, it's a great value for the money. I'll update my review as soon as I am able to get it installed and in use.

I installed this in our house, and it was rather easy to install, I cut the main line right after it came into the house and plumbed this into my plumbing. It doesn't take up much space, smaller than most water softeners. I think the water is softer a little bit but still hard to tell as it is very new in our house. I do like the fact that there won't be any purchasing of salt and having to haul the heavy bags down to our basement.

This Whole House Salt-Free Descaler System seems like a great product so far. Overall it was easy to install and not as heavy as I thought it would be. And the fact I don't have to use salt is an amazing plus! So far it does the job and is a great product.

The manufacturers box had a WaterBoss label slapped on it. Parts were loose in the box. There were NO instructions in the box. The parts supplied are of poor quality plastic. The manufacturer's box was thrown inside a huge box, not marked "this end up" and no packing inside. Amazon fail. I downloaded an instruction PDF from Aquasana, it is bare bones and non-specific. The supplied shut off valve is huge and cheap. It looks as though it's meant to be glued inline. I threw it in a drawer and ordered a Sharkbite shut off. In fact, I'll probably pitch the fittings supplied and go with better quality. Also, a warning label on the tank shows 100 psi max. Nothing on the ad shows this pressure rating. I haven't even started to flush it yet, and I'm already skeptical.

I've been trying different combinations of filters, DI systems, RO systems and even a different kind of descaler for years. This is a good medium term solution when you don't want to add junk to the water. Our city water (comes from the nearby city even though I'm not part of it) is super hard. Has all the sediment and chlorine you'd expect from city water. What I've settled on as my preferred solution is to use sediment and carbon prefilters, then this descaler, and an RO system for the fridge/drinking water. I also have a couple DI filters that can be hooked in at any point (after the RO) to get very pure water for washing the cars. Much like in the house, water spots on the cars drive me insane. This descaler takes the majority of the work of keeping water spots off our stuff and makes it automatic. It doesn't reduce TDS by itself, just helps it not to stick. The RO is responsible for lowering TDS, the DI takes it to zero,.

Excellent solution for those looking to control scale without the hassle of traditional salt-based softeners. This brand seems to be made by Aquasana, a well-known name in home water filtration. This filter is large, so make sure you have space for it.Before installing this descaler, we dealt with stubborn scale buildup on toilets and sinks. Since adding this system inline AFTER our whole-house filters, the scale has virtually disappeared. It's made our fixtures easier to clean and should help extend the life of our plumbing. This filter requires no maintenance or consumables like salt, making it a low-effort, cost-effective alternative. Highly recommend it for anyone struggling with scale but wanting to avoid the upkeep of a salt-based system.
