I would like to start Thanking WaterDrop Manufacturing an Excellent system which looks sophisticated on CounterTop, Compact in nature and most importantly good water supply that tastes excellent. I used to have older system that came with water softener(Dupure) and it is good cannot say great since it is my first RO system and did NOT know the difference. After 5 years of paying a ton of money for filters and to replace them them additional fee for the technician, I finally gave up the thought of spending close to $500 to replace the filters as my water line(RO) is NOT giving me any water. Other weird thing is I need to fill in Air in the reserve tank every Winter, if not the water does NOT come out faster enough. What I think is great about this system X121: It has 2 Modes Energy saving which saves power for me as it runs on electricity, regular mode which I can use during a family gathering where lot of water need to be pumped in less time.2: The display shows what is your water impurities as the water flows out, it is usually for me 19 to 21 which is the best possible water you can drink.3: Compact design gets under the sink occupying less space.4: You can set the amount of water that should be dispensed every time, this is an amazing feature if you have kids and sometimes dont pay attention to turn off the water.5: Changing Filters is a breeze and dont need to pay the Technician $150. Also you need to schedule and stay home for the repair.6: Most importantly the Customer Service, they are amazing and I will NOT be able to say how much they helped in installing the system and questions I have to make the system up and running. In my case I have to involve a Plumber to replace the Old system with X12 as our old system has complex installation. But there a videos and manual that can be followed easily to setup the system. For now I am Happy I made the move and water tastes like water should.Caution: If used to drinking tap water initial days you can feel it is different and this is because your taste buds are used to a taste and anything different you may NOT like it and body takes time to adjust.I posted the review to help others who delay things like me and wasting money trying to keep the old system running and not sure which system to move to. In my case this is the Best decision, everybody has different budgets so pick a system based on your needs. Also Waterdrop occasionally has deals on the systems, so subscribe or visit their website to save some more money.

I have looked in many product from amazon to local options to install at my home so that I can stop buying filtered water from store in those 5 gallons of 3 huge bottle 2 times a week. I never liked the idea of drinking tap water ever, so I bought filtered water from whole foods for 6 years. I was convinced that no product can achieve the taste level of store bought alkalized mineral water. But this product has changed my mind, it was at right price and easy to install. It has UV as well, a complete product. I hired a plumber to install, but it was very fast and my plumber actually recommended this product to his other customers after seeing the water quality(did a test) and taste of water. I wish, I could've found earlier. I love it.

We've been using a Culligan RO system for many years, but buying replacement filters online isn’t an option—they can only be picked up in-store. Plus, having Culligan replace the filters costs nearly $450 in California. So, we decided to switch to a new RO system that’s easier to maintain. After extensive research, we chose the Waterdrop X12. Here are the pros, cons, and some hidden features we've discovered:Pros:- Certified Water Quality: This system has passed multiple certified lab tests, so you can be confident it effectively removes contaminants.- Tankless Design: Minimizes the risk of bacterial growth (our old system had a tank, which needed periodic sanitization—costing more in maintenance).= UV Sterilization: Unlike many other RO systems with 3 filters, the X12 includes a UV sterilizing light for added protection.- Smart Monitoring: Both the faucet and main unit track when filters need to be changed—a great feature when life is already busy.- Reputable Company: Waterdrop is backed by a large company with years of experience in water filtration. This was important to us, as many RO systems on the market are from startups, and I didn’t want to invest in a system from a company that might not be around in a few years.- Award-Winning Design: The X12 won a Red Dot Design Award. Even though it’s installed under the sink, it’s nice to have something that looks great!- Excellent Customer Service: Initially, we spoke with a representative who couldn’t answer all our questions. However, we were later connected with a staff member who provided detailed responses promptly, even within 24 hours when out of the office.Cons:- Wobbly Faucet: As some reviewers noted, the smart faucet wobbles. Some have 3D-printed adapters to stabilize it. Hopefully, Waterdrop will consider adding a fix in the future.- Pricey: This is one of the more expensive tankless RO systems, but the unique features make it worth the investment. Plus, Waterdrop frequently offers discounts on their RO systems.- Noise: It does make some noise, but it’s only noticeable when the room is quiet, and it's not a dealbreaker.Additional Thoughts:Some buyers mentioned that the initial water flow is too strong, causing spills. I personally found it acceptable, as the higher flow is part of the appeal. If you prefer a slower flow, the user manual explains how to enable energy-saving mode (restart the unit and press F2+F3), which also reduces the flow. There’s another mode not mentioned in the manual called "faucet mode" (restart the unit and press F1+F2) to reduce the water flow without affecting energy use.Overall, we opted for the X12 due to its faster water flow. If you prefer a lower flow, models like the X8 or G800 might be better options. I hope this review helps you decide if the Waterdrop X12 is right for your family’s needs!

I used to have a Culligan RO water filter under my sink that came with a big holding tank which took up a lot of space. Also in order to change the filters once a year you have to rely on Culligan service to come to your house and change the filters. It would be very easy to do yourself but Culligan makes it very hard to get the replacement filters. They want to be able to charge you. And scheduling them to come to your house is a hassle and will waste a whole day waiting for them. I changed that system out to this Waterdrop X12 RO under sink water filter with no tank and gained a lot of cabinet space. They make it very easy to order and replace the filters yourself. A much cheaper alternative to Culligan. The water is delicious and it dispenses fresh pure alkaline water. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

Great RO. Super easy to install and water tastes good. Excellent investment. Still need a post install water test to confirm though.

Hubby was dreading this install and then said it was fairly easy and quick when done. All told, maybe an hour - I cleaned the bathroom and scrubbed down the shower and tub while he did it. He was fearing the task of drilling a hole for the faucet on our metal sink, but for nothing as it was only a hole an inch in size.He was most troubled by where to put the saddle drain as manual said on vertical pipe before the trap and we googled to find vertical OR horizontal before the trap was ok. Dishwasher drain takes up room and then our sink has deeper than usual part that goes into the pipe from the drain hole, so limited spots to choose from. I made him angle it up high I don't want anything catching that drain line to go back in and contaminate the entire system and I know there are times when water bubbles at the opening of the second sink (on the right) when the plug is pulled on the left and that could contaminate it.Good quality fittings and hose included. Wish I had pulled the filters out to check what they were like before starting it up but I didn't. It was about as loud as the dishwasher (which is fairly quite really) while it ran its 35 minute flush cycle. That is what it does on initial startup then you can use it. Haven't noticed any noise since.I like the digital display on the faucet top and I love that you dial in the quantity of water you want then press the button to let 'er flow. During the flush it just seemed to trickle out but later on it got better and releases a decent stream now. The tap can be swung from side to side and we played around first to decide where we wanted it due to the swing factor. Nice to swing completely out of the sink way in some cases so we installed it so it could swing to the right out of the way and to the left it stops just past the mid sink point I believe manual says 120 degree swing. It also shows you the TDS value while flowing out the tap but I'm not sure if it is percent or PPM have to find out. Our water is from a well and has high TDS anyway. Although it says a pre-filter should be installed for systems on well water, ours is not yet- next weekend he's adding that at the point where the water line comes into the house. Don't want to go through filters more than necessary and we know from experience that is exactly what happens with the RO systems. We've had 2 others in our past, and they had a pre-filter installed just on the line going into them, not whole house. They cannot compare to the volume this promises and without a storage tank!I am so happy not to deal with another storage tank and to have good drinking and cooking water at the press of a button, just so easy! I surely appreciate the UV treatment too as bacteria is a concern.

Update: Have been using this for a while and have updated my review. Still love this unit.I ordered this because water potability has always been an issue in our home. For context, we have been using a water dispenser with the 19-liter bottles, and buying water jugs at the grocery store or ordering them, which usually cost us $10 each plus some delivery. However we go through it quickly (as "hydrate!" is a big theme in our active family), so we often have to put in a large order if we are spending extended time up there. So this has become our new option. I'm really happy with it. And my family is picky with water. This system is absolutely top of the line. With a mind-blowing 11 stages of filtration, the water that comes out of this faucet is crystal clear and tastes amazing. I tested the water with pH strips to confirm it does indeed raise the pH to an optimal 7.5 as advertisedInstallation and set up (which I did myself -- and I'm a relative novice) was very simple. It took me just about an hour. I have had some recent experience replacing several bathroom faucets in my home, and installing new bidets throughout, so that helped with my comfort level on this plumbing work. The video and instructions are reassuring. I had to purchase a bit to drill directly into my stainless steel sink for aesthetic purposes, but I could have opted to just drill directly into the counter. The instructions are easy to follow, and all of the components felt premium, so no need to buy any plumbing supplies. The unit is pretty sizeable, but would fit easily under most household sinks. I personally store lots of cleaning supplies & a garbage can under the sink, so I opted to house the unit in a dedicated cabinet for ease of access, maintenance, and to keep it away from the cleaning supplies & garbage.Water comes out of the faucet super fast, so initially it would make a splash when pouring water into small drinks especially. There is a faucet-mode that you can easily configure to, which I would highly recommend (should be the default setting in my opinion). This setting eases into the high-powered output rather than immediately generating high output, and completely eliminates the splash issue. So far, I'm delighted. The water flow rate is good, and we are able to use it for drinking, cooking and water bottle filling with great convenience. The black unit is about the size of an old-school CPU, and fits well enough under the sink. It does need clearance of a couple of inches all around, which was not a problem for us.Note that this does need replacement water filters, much as you do on your fridge water dispenser line. I haven't had to buy a replacement yet, but it looks like they are at the $50 price-point. With the price of the filter unit where it is, that's still pretty good if it's going to last a few years.I would highly recommend investing in this system - it is on the pricier side but the build quality and output is excellent so I expect it to stand the test of time.

I recently installed the Waterdrop X12 Reverse Osmosis System in my kitchen. Be warned: it’s huge and definitely on the expensive side but not especially so for an 11-stage reverse osmosis filtration system. This isn’t just a quick DIY fix; it’s a serious setup that may not be suitable for apartments unless you have your landlord's permission—especially in older buildings like mine. In my case, the landlord had his plumber complete the installation for me to ensure everything was done correctly. One of the standout features is the incredible 1200 GPD fast flow. No more waiting around for water—this system provides instant hydration, which is a huge plus for busy households. The filtration process is thorough, with a robust 0.0001μm RO membrane that effectively reduces TDS, chlorine, fluoride, lead, and more. Plus, the LED light adds a nice touch, assuring you that your water is safe to drink.I love that this system infuses healthy alkaline minerals like calcium and magnesium, adjusting the pH to an optimal level. Not only does this enhance the taste of the water, but it also promotes better health—what’s not to love? The smart digital faucet is a nice touch too. It shows TDS levels and filter life, making it easy to keep track of your water quality. The sleek, tankless design saves space under the sink, which is a bonus in my kitchen - but again, the system is by no means small, you should definitely compare your available space with the dimensions of the system. As for maintenance, the replacement filters are reasonably priced and last for a good amount of time, which makes keeping this system running smoothly less of a hassle. Plus, the eco-friendly 3:1 pure-to-drain water ratio is a great way to conserve water resources.Overall, the Waterdrop X12 is a solid investment for anyone serious about upgrading their water filtration system. Just be prepared for the installation process and the commitment it entails, especially if you’re in an apartment setting. Once it’s set up, you’ll be well on your way to enjoying clean, delicious water at home!

Installation is easy. Water flow is very fast. Design looks great- nice and slim under your sink. Definitely not an eyesore. We hooked it up to our own 2 in 1 faucet instead of using the faucet that came with it because we didn’t want to drill a hole in our countertop. Taste of the water is just okay- nothing to rave about. I had better tasting water before. Just be aware that the filter is really loud. It sounds like there is a tank underneath my sink. I wish it was quieter…. Thought about returning because of the sound, but just going to deal with it because of the hassle of returning… and there could be a return fee…
