The difference between waterslide paper clear and white
Useful waterslide decal paper inkjet
"Clear" indicates a light-colored substrate, while white indicates a dark-colored substrate. This is because a dark background will flood the image on transparencies. In addition, for white film, if you want to remove the background, use a cutting plotter.Using clear inkjet waterslide paper on the white background,it will be excellent.
Warm Tips:
- ✔This water slide paper works only for inkjet printers.
- ✔Print the image on the coated film side, the waterslide paper back side are rough side.
- ✔You must first seal waterslide decal paper with clear acrylic spray after you printed. Inkjet ink is water soluble,or the image will damaged.
- ✔Do not touch or move the sheet (water slide paper) around before you apply the spray coat on top.
- ✔Spray coat AFTER the ink has completely dried.(Use hair-dryer to dry more effectively)
- ✔Hold the spray can 8 to 12 inches away from the waterslide paper before coating
- ✔Wait until it has dried and then spray again. Repeat the process for about 2 to 3 times
- ✔Inkjet toner is water soluble,it will dissolve when placing water. So why coate acrylic spray 3 times. Ensure surface cover acrylic.It will provide a waterproof layer protect image from water erosion

I used these waterslide decals on painted aluminum that had been sealed with Krylon Clear Coat. They work great. Just be mindful of the following:(1) be sure to print on the correct side.(2) let the ink dry *fully*, and then clear coat the decal paper *thoroughly* BEFORE applying it. Don't glop the clear coat on, but use several light coats to get a nice even coat of clear that seals the ink in.(3) Be patient with bubbles when applying the decal. It may be difficult to squeegee out the bubbles without moving the decal around, especially if you're applying a larger decal. Let it dry a bit under close supervision (a couple of minutes maybe), and then work the bubbles out as the decal starts to "grab" the item you're applying it to. It may take a few rounds of letting it dry a smidge and then working out the bubbles to get a good final product. It'll never be perfect, but with some patience you can get great results.(4) Don't expect to be able to apply this to a dark surface. Inkjet ink doesn't go on that thick, and these decals are clear-- a dark background will show right through, and the brightness of your design will be completely gone. Apply it to a lighter background and it will work great.

A friend bought me a 50 year old model kit. I thoroughly enjoyed the build but when it came time to apply the decals, they disintegrated due to their age. Fortunately I only ruined one decal. Because I am pretty experienced with Photoshop, I was able to reproduce the destroyed decal. It was then I set about seeking out a product to reprint them and settled on this produce. I created my first print out and followed all the instructions, which called for me to spray three coats of clear acrylic over the print, letting each coat dry thoroughly. When I placed my first decal in the warm water recommended, it curled off the backing paper almost immediately. Further when I went to attach it to the model, it curled off the car as well. I was frustrated, thinking I had wasted my money. The I had another thought, the decal seemed awfully thick. I wondered how well the decals would work if I only sprayed one coat over my print. I did that and it worked like a charm.There are a few things to consider with this product. Some are obvious, like the instructions include how to bake these decals onto various surfaces. While I am hoping this is obvious, you should never bake a plastic model. Secondly, unlike the decals that come with models kits, you are printing this onto what is essentially one large decal. Before applying the decal to your kit, you will have to trim fairly close to your design. Lastly this material is still a bit thicker than a standard model decal and the adhesion does not seem to be quite as strong. I remedied this by a healthy coat of clear gloss enamel over the kit after the decals dried completely.

I printed images 1/4†in height and width, they came out so crisp and clear! Put on two coats of clear spray like the directions say and the image will slide off just as it should! Great paper for water decal art.

I am new to this water sliding stuff. I'm not sure I am doing it correctly. I followed all directions. But once I tske it out of the water, it is difficult to slide the decal off the paper. Also the decal wants to tear. Like I said I am new at this. I'm not giving a bad review. I am sure it is human error. I'll keep trying.

It's very thin and it breaks very easy even with 3 coats of clear on top of it, just total garbage !!!
