I bought this relay to operate a winch (2000#, I think) on a 2003 Honda Rancher 4x4. I located it on a custom welded bracket just above the oem charging rectifier in the right rear fender area. I ran some #6 gauge wire from the winch to the relay, and also to the battery, and another to ground. I installed it in this fashion so that it could be replaced easily in case of a problem, even though it is vulnerable to water. The included handlebar switch is the same one that is used on my '99 Fourtrax 300 4x4 for the same purpose and has proven to be very reliable. Hopefully this setup will work well for a long time and be useful in the upcoming snow plowing season. Time will tell. I will update my review as necessary. The relay is on the right in the photo beside the circuit breaker.

Used this to replace the original one in our badlands winch. It worked and has outlasted the original one by a long shot. Definitely worth the money.

The kit is complete, but the instructions are a business card size piece of paper that leaves out instructions for power to the switch. Grab your ohm meter or continuity light. Works great, and replaced an old school polarity reversing switch
