Step 1: Disconnect Power and Remove the Old Knob

Great replacement for the OEM knob. GE has a flawed design with these dryers. The metal shaft takes some torque to turn the knob, and it only goes counterclockwise. Problem is, the knob is plastic and plastic is softer than metal. The plastic knob will fail after so many cycles or if you try to turn it clockwise too many times. It’s not a matter of if, but when. This knob fits perfectly on the shaft and works as advertised.
