1. Question: °C/°F, 12 hour/24 hour switchable?

  • -Answer: Yes.

2. Question: Assembly/installation?

  • -Answer: 1. When the battery is low, the host screen has a low battery display. Otherweise no low battery. 2. Remove power adapter, take out battery, reset the main unit and sensor. Load the batteries in all the sensors first, then main unit. Confirm whether the main unit and sensor are in the same channel. 3. Relatively easy to set up. The outdoor sensor worked well. It has its own display with temp/humidity and transmits that to the base station. The unit comes with a power cord, and it can take batteries (not included). We decided to use the charger all the time. That way the display stays lit up. If you only use battery you have to touch the top to light up the display and it turns off again after 10 seconds. The temperature and humidity measurements were accurate. I compared them to other units that I have. The unit measures both the temp and humidity outdoors through the sensor and from the base station the indoor temperature and humidity. It can keep itself synced to atomic time via a radio signal. Depending on your locality it may or may not have trouble picking up that signal. Finally it has a "forecast" feature. But that appears to be based on measuring air pressure changes. Not sure how accurate that would be.Overall I like the unit. It has a big bright color display that you can clearly see across the room. Its easy to set up. And the temp and humidity measurements are accurate, as compared to other devices I have.

I purchased a second of these after realizing it’s idiosyncrasy’s and learning how to work around them. For me the worse issue was with understanding that this has an atomic clock function and the screen will go black for about 7 minutes while trying to pick up a signal. Since I was also using this like a night light for the living space this wasn’t good for me in the middle of the night after waking for a bio break. At first I thought it had broken and my heart sunk since I had come to rely on the information from it for keeping my house cool - (no air conditioning, and am in California). After contacting the seller I was told it was the atomic clock seeking a signal and it shuts the screen off during. Well, that’s odd I thought. How to I stop it from doing that?! Rest assured there is a way. The atomic clock signal can be turned off in settings. You must go into the setting MODE, press that button twice. Next comes the atomic clock feature, press the OFF button. To get out of the MODE setting takes about 6-7 more presses and you are done unless you need to manually set the clock yourself. What a relief to know it wasn’t broken! Not everyone lives in an ideal location for picking up an atomic clock signal and I’m one. Either it’s signal interference from other devices, or not being close to a window, or simply the device is not turned in the right direction, but I find it easier to set the clock myself usually and I do not want my weather station turning off and on for that. Keep your sensor in a good outdoor location, mine is in the car port and sometimes needs a bit of cleaning off or moving depending on the time of year and when the cosmos have moved. Then there’s a matter of the sensor above the display embedded into the frame. As you try to handle this device that thing can toggle itself to dim and two other modes I don’t need to use. The only way around this is with careful handling so it’s not a big deal but can be somewhat annoying. That’s my only two gripes because other than this it’s an affordable great little weather station and I recommend them highly. The display is bright and colorful (or less obtrusive if you dim it by the aforementioned frame sensor), and the size is nicely visible from most parts of the room it’s in. It’s fairly accurate, offers time, date, and moon phases 🌙 🌕 🌖, so all in all a very good buy for the cost of it. Between this and my Google Hubs I know what’s going on most of the time! We are living in interesting times, aren’t we?

This is the second unit I bought. I use one for my greenhouse monitor and another for outside temps. The new one is for outside temps, and I have it tucked under an awning by the garage, about 50 feet from the wall unit. I have this one plugged in permanently, but the other one is not and has good battery life. Good display and easy to read. Connecting probes is easy, and there is no interface between the two units I own. Air pressure and corresponding forecast seems pretty accurate compared to what my phone tells me. The unit screen turns off around 3am if you're using the atomic clock setting, which is fine for most people but I'm actually awake already at that point, midnight or 1 would be more ideal. Be aware that above the screen, centered on the frame, is a brightness button that doesn't appear to be a button. If you accidentally brush against it the screen will dim or turn off, leaving you wondering what happened if you don't know about it. Having the setup buttons on the back of the unit is a little annoying during initial setup, but if you do it properly you'll never use them again, so I understand why they're on the back rather than the front since they're only used for setup.
