It worked “okay†for when we were training our dairy cow to stand better for milking but she was still able to kick the milking canister every once in awhile.

If they had an adjustable strap you could fit it to any size cow. Rather than going through the hassle of sending them back, I'm going to get some heavy duty thread and a big needle and sew them smaller or figure out how to get an adjustable area added.

Ordered these to hobble my dairy cow so I could milk her and treat her for mastitis. The strap is a little long-- length doesn't adjust (too much slack and cow can kick still), so we had to modify it by cutting it off completely and just using the velcro parts that go around the back legs and attaching a short chain to them. Works so much better!

While I would normally appreciate good strong hook and loop, for this purpose it was too strong. Unit does not have a quick release or tab pull to keep cow from hurting herself or us when she gets tired of being constrained. We had to cut it off quickly with a knife when she got agitated so she wouldn’t fall over. At least one cuff was useful to rig up a quick release version with some rope.

I purchased two of these hobbles. I will say that I am disappointed in the product due to the fact that the buckles rusted up in a very short time. One had to be cut off the animal due to not being able to release the buckle at all.

We have a big beef heifer that would not stop kicking at her calf and thought these would help, we were wrong. They are way to long and when she goes to kick they prevent nothing. Putting them on wasn't super hard but taking them off was a challenge, getting them off took five minutes and when you're around the feet of an angry cow that is way to long. In other words they are almost totally useless.

Works great for hoof trimming and any other kind of hoof or foot trimming that you need to do if you have an animal that will not stand and takes off like it's in the Kentucky Derby. Very humane, soft, gentle, no problems. Fellow shipped out quick and is as described.

The velcro is too loud. A buckle is good enough on its own and does not spook the cow. Nice and sturdy though and works good once it is on. Taking it off is harder bcz of velcro
