These durable glass jars are great for growing and using sourdough starter. The wide mouth makes it easier (as much as is possible while dealing with starter) to use as well as clean up after use. They are a bit expensive for glass jars but their functionality make them well worth the money.

Purchased the 1.5 Liter size but it was too large to hold with one hand. The 1 L size was perfect for sourdough starter and very easy to clean. Love it, just right!

These are the perfect size for sourdough starter for two loaves, holds approx 300gm starter PLUS peak without overflowing. I love the option to seal with the rubber gasket and clips but usually use them without. Clean up is a breeze!

Great jars for sourdough. Bought 1 pack for the starter and 1 for my whole and all purpose flour. Work great but put one in the dishwasher and the bottom broke off, so shouldnΓ’β¬β’t be marketed as machine safe.

These jars have worked out great! Just started baking sourdough and bought them based on the recommendations of several cookbooks. I place the lids directly on top of the jar , leaving the rubber gaskets and clips off. This allows gas to escape but also get oxygen to my starter. They are a nice thickness and feel Γ’β¬ΛsubstantialΓ’β¬β’. IΓ’β¬β’m going to buy more Weck products for food storage. Highly recommend!

I love these jars! They are amazing! Well, as amazing as a glass jar can be. ItΓ’β¬β’s a jar, itΓ’β¬β’s glass, it holds stuff. Sourdough starter in my case. The straight sides are a big plus for me. I needed something that was easy to clean with a jar spatula. This was it.

I bought this jar for my sourdough starter because I was having a hard time maintaining it in a mason jar. What a difference this wide-mouth jar has made! So easy to discard and feed my starter now! I gifted one to my brother-in-law and he loves it too.

Love these for keeping my sourdough starter. Easy to spatula the right amount out and easy to clean. Tall enough even a double batch of starter (I use 50g:100g:100g for a single batch) wonΓ’β¬β’t spill over.I never use the gaskets or clips so I canΓ’β¬β’t speak to those. But if you are looking to ease your sourdough routine, these work very well.
