Weck jars are top of the line, rightfully so. The liter tulip jar was purchased for my sourdough starter. It was highly recommended and now I understand why. Not only is this tulip jar the perfect size but it makes mixing and clean up so much easier, with no extra hassles! It is heavy duty and worth every cent. I highly recommend.

I got this jar specifically for my sourdough starter, and it’s honestly perfect. Instead of leaving the rubber seal around the lid, I use it to mark the rise of my starter, which helps me see how much it’s grown. The shape is awesome—it’s easy to mix in, scrape the sides, and it’s wide enough to pour in flour and water without making a mess. The only thing I wish I had done was get a bigger size, especially if you make a lot of starter, but if you’re just starting out or going the no-discard route, this size is perfect! Totally understand the hype around the Weck jars now. I’m obsessed!

I was getting tired of how dirty my jars would get from the starter getting stuck in the various curves so I bought this and I have been very pleased with it. It's quite big so the starter has plenty of room to grow. The glass is thick and it seems very durable. The lid fits well and the clips keep it on securely.

Loved the size and they were perfect for pantry storage. I even tried using it for sourdough starter. A family member turn the wrong oven at 425F to bake onion rings. Instead the oven holding my weck jar with sourdough heated up. 20 mins pass and sourdough was burnt yet the weck jar never cracked. we let it cool and then poured hot water, dawn and BarKeeper let it sit for awhile. Jar and lid were cleaned with no problems. The glass quality is worth every penny.

I bought this after having been using a simple mason jar for my sourdough starter, and let me say that this is soooo much better for my starter! It’s wide mouth design is perfect for stirring and measuring starter. Easy to clean and pour from. It’s big enough for my starter to expand after feeding and it has never overflowed. I just set the glass lid right on top and nothing has been able to get inside either. Perfect for fridge storage too with the clasps to keep it airtight.

A bit smaller than I expected (metric) but otherwise perfect. Not broken. Glass lid, seal ring, and 2 metal clips to hold it together. No plastic lid or wood lids, or even fabric one. Can't wait to try it out now that I have items that weren't included. After Christmas. Good price, I think. A sticker on the bottom had $ 7.00 on it. It is a German import. Weck jar.
