Loved it from minute 1. Not too heavy and does give you a felling of peacefulness come over you

I am ALL about weighted blankets as someone who is extremely sensitive to sleeping environments and who has BURNED up at night since I was 21yo. This has always been my sleep temperature issue even in the winter - needing to feel secure as I fall asleep, but my sleep being disrupted with sweating. These weighted blankets give you the comfort of falling asleep with blankets on, but are made of material which doesn't cause you to wake up in a puddle of sweat. (I refuse to invest in polyester bedding for this reason, but even quality, expensive cotton, and especially down, don't help with temp regulation). I believe it is the glass beads used in weighted blankets like this one which inadvertently helps with temp regulation.EVEN BETTER for sleep training yourself to most healthy position (your back). I know, as a natural stomach sleeper I was super disheartened when my chiro asked me to train myself to sleep on my back (not even on my side). I wish I had weighted blankets like this one years ago because it would have been much easier to train myself since I think (non-scientific opinion) the reason I slept on my stomach was because it felt like the most secure position (I think about how babies calm when you hold their chests against you). If you think about it, sleeping on your back is the most vulnerable position because your vital organs are exposed while you are off guard. My chiro told me sleeping on my back would keep my neck and skeleton in the best position (turning your head while you sleep on your stomach isn't healthy for your neck; sleeping on your side wakes you up more than you realize as you move, toss, and/or turn). When you sleep on your back, you don't move nearly as often (so you stay in deeper sleep) and it doesn't put unnecessary pressure on your bones laying in unnatural positions.So, a blanket like this would really assist in training yourself for healthier sleep. Toss a pillow underneath your knees, pull this blanket on, and in a few weeks you'll seriously improve your sleep health.ANYHOW, about this blanket specifically, I really like how it's 7lbs in a more condensed area (making it a bit heavier where it touches you than some other weighted blankets which distribute the weight over a larger area).This blanket has a soft "velvet" side and a cooler surface. Stitching to keep the beads localized is key - this blanket is done right to prevent the beads from gathering at the bottom. The size makes it easy to travel with. It is shaped like a leaf, but it isn't as obvious as it is depicted - and also larger than it looks in the listing.Great gift idea for yourself or anyone who may not be familiar with weighted blankets. ALSO, my XXL, 110-pound goldendoodle loves having this draped over him during a thunderstorm.I deducted only one star because I purchased this at $50 which is slightly overpriced and I'm slightly irritated to see it offered with a 30% off coupon only days after I bought it. Nevertheless, I would still happily purchase it at full price.Hope this helped you decide this weighted blanket is a great option, especially if you can apply a coupon!

I got this weighted lap blanket to help with some anxiety I've been feeling, and it's been working pretty well so far; it's definitely helped me relax while I'm watching TV or just trying to wind down at the end of the day. As a fan of weighted blankets, I really like this. It's a great size (especially if you're a smaller person) for a bed or for cuddling up on the couch. Both sides are soft to the touch (one has a velvety feel). It's small enough to take on a car trip.As a petite person, my only regret is choosing the 7-lb. version instead of the 5-lb. Since this blanket is much smaller than a bed-sized weighted blanket, the weight is more concentrated. 5 pounds would probably have been plenty for me. (For comparison, I usually sleep with either a 15-lb queen or 10-lb twin weighted blanket.)Even so, I enjoy more peaceful sleep with this and I'm glad I ordered it.

I've been searching for a lap blanket for the past six months that was just the right about of diffuse pressure. Something heavy enough that it quells my nervous energy that makes me want to jump up and pace when I'm writing but shaped in such a way that its easily draped over my lap and doesn't slide off all the time. This leaf shaped blanket hits both marks for me and now I want another one so I can keep one in our bedroom too.
