These are great tips for joining wires, soldering components to pcbs, and other soldering tasks that require precise application of heat. They're heavy, well-made, inexpensive, and work a treat.

As others have pointed out, these are not the tips described. Clearly visible before opening, one can recognize these are the ones resembling familiar ST1 tips. The thing is, those are the flat type, with about 0.8mm tip size (narrow side). Clearly, not a tiny 0.4mm conical tip like the bag says. Weller has some mistakes to clean up with this line intended to replace the ST one. Completely unexpected coming from such a respected brand. How the the ST1 one came to be repackaged and listed as a new precision conical tip is beyond me. Hopefully they work this out soon, because I rather like the idea of purchasing tips in sets of 3.After visiting the Weller site to see what they list for this tip, they do in fact point out that this is in fact a direct successor of the ST1. However, this information is at the bottom of the page, following the same claims of some conical 0.4mm tip. What a contradiction.

The size of each soldering tip is 1mm x 1.8mm rectangular, not 0.4mm conical as claimed in the product description.

Bought these 0.4 tips and another set of 0.8 tips at the same time. The 0.4 tips appear to be damaged on the tips and are actually mushroomed to a larger diameter than the 0.8 tips. Not sure if it happened it transit or what. Other than dimensions they will still work fine
