This product went in wonderfully! I did read the manual over several times and watched the videos. This is an advanced DIY project because you are 8 -10 feet off the ground maneuvering a forty pound ladder onto a ledge that is 3/8' wide on one end. I tied mine off so it wouldn't fall far if I missed. I did miss on the first try and my safety saved me and the ladder. That said, this ladder has two genius features, first the feet installation worked really well, and second the ledge system mentioned above worked really well. Also the installation calls for two people, believe it. One is working above securing the ladder and the second is maneuvering the service ladder and pulling down the access ladder to allow installing the lag screws. I took about a day to safely remove the old ladder and another day to install this one, the first time. A Sawsall with a long blade is needed to remove the old ladder. I disassembled the old ladder so that the last item down was the old frame.The ladder is a major improvement over the older wooden one and well worth the effort.

The ladder was solid enough. I would not buy this unit again because there are 2 separate hinges and between the hinges is alarge gap where you can see into the attic. Most ive used have a continuous hinge. Luckily this one was going an unheated garage

Very nice, sturdy replacement to a failed wooden unit. Install was a snap. Two minor complaints: I wish the stair treads were a little deeper, as the upper rungs (where they are backed by the plywood hatch cover) require me to turn my feet (size 12) to center the ball of my foot on those treads. Also, the exposed side of the plywood hatch cover could be smoother. It has a couple of small ripples where the plywood might not have laminated completely. Generally, very pleased.

The ladder came with good instructions which made it very easy to install. I'm very happy with the finished product.

I unfortunately had to return this item because it was not the correct size that I ordered. I wish I could’ve made it work but was unable to. This came in one piece, no damage, and was much better than the one I had to go with! I’d recommend this item all day long

This is my 2nd review of this product......I had purchased the same attic ladder a few years ago. the same Model as this one. The Quality is NOT the same. The ladder treads are narrow, the handle is not existing, and you kick the platform when you walk up and down the ladder. The item was shipped in a plastic bag.......when received the platform , or door cover was heavily scratched, the plastic is not enough to protect the wood. We want to stain this and add trim around the ladder, but now it's going to stick out like a sore thumb!. Maybe we will just paint it, as so it's not showing up as well. Would I buy this product again.......Probably not...................I would shop other manufacturers. I bought it because we already have one & it's built very well...................You wanted to know. That's my opinion..................We will continue to shop on Amazon!
