Measurements are baffling as it says 1.25 but fits a 1.5 thread od from the previous drain. It fit my older cast iron bathtub in a 1930’s home. Maybe the tub was added later though. After re-enameling with Ekopel this drain looks great against the new finish. Smooth installation after adding a little silicon grease to the threads and plumbers putty under the rim to make a tight seal. The rubber gasket that came with it was too thick. I use a strainer instead of the stopper that came with it.

I searched everywhere to find a drain plug that can hold water in the tub. I read the reviews on this & followed the review by Steve C. for the correct measurements....."If your drain measures 1 1/2 inches, this is the one to get. Not the coarse-threaded ones with a nominal size of 1 1/2 - they are more like 1 3/4 in diameter. I don't understand the sizing but after two failures, this is the one that fit my 1 1/2 inch wide drain." & it fits perfectly & holds the water in the tub without silicone seal! I purchased the 1 1/4" for my 1 1/2" drain size.

I installed this twice, first with black gasket ring. It sat too high though so water collected around the outside the drain. Removed it, used plumber's putty under the collar instead, and now it's flush with the tub and drains nicely. This size and threading was not found in my local stores. Was pleased to find it here and happy it fit nicely. Just don't see the benefit in the gasket.

Matches the other brand chrome pieces in my bathroom no problem, fits right, and well priced. Installed with no issues into a 40 year old cast iron tub with plumber's putty -- no leaks. This is my first time doing a tub drain replacement and it went without a hitch with just a little bit of online research.

So the tub drains we had in our tubs were at least twenty years old, and it showed. They were corroded, the cross pieces had broken out and they needed to go. With much swearing and a Dremel, we finally succeeded in getting the little suckers out. Then we found out that NOBODY in our town carries the size we needed to replace them. Local retailers suggested we drive twenty miles to check at a plumbing supply store. Yeah, no.Thank goodness for Amazon. I got the kind I wanted, well made and reasonably priced, without having to drive all over hecks little half acre.

Worked well as a replacement for my 25-year-old drain plug that would no longer hold water. It was a chore to get the old one out - the removal tool just broke the inside of the old one, so I got an extractor and was finally able to get it to bite in and unscrew the old one.

Need strength to screw all the way on. Didn’t have rubber gasket so buy those separately at hardware stores. Cheaper there. Descent price for our area.

Fit perfectly, and if I remember correctly, came with helpful instructions. Note that to remove your old plug that you will likely need to buy a special removal tool first.

it is solid all metal piece, and comes with a rubber seal. there is no plastic and good for the value, stopper + strainer. but the finish is rough. the chrome has large area unfinished. see the photo. if it is in big store, no one will buy it. but since it is installed to a tub, and mostly cannot see due to the lift-and-turn stopper, I can live with it. Would give it a 3-star, but the perfect size matching of 1-5/8 OD and 16 tpi, i will give it a 4-star.

Good quality item at a price half that of you mainstream brands. Which are probably made in the same factory. As usual watch out carefully for the correct bath shoe size, the image in the product description is super helpful. Easy install assuming you have the correct tools, as usual.

I like this product but it is at times with a full bath to turn the top drain to let out the water over to its open position.. This would be difficult for the elderly or small children.
