Westbrass was founded in 1935 by two brothers, Jack and Aaron Kagan, to serve the needs of all plumbing wholesalers on the West Coast. The product lines at the time included items such as faucets, valves, malleable fittings, etc. After becoming the premier distributor of plumbing products, the company was bought in 1985 by Max Homami. Seeing a boom in the Home Improvement Industry, Mr. Homami had a vision to make Westbrass the leader in Kitchen & Bath Accessories.
The company currently manufactures its own products made of the highest quality materials. The 16 gage brass wall thickness is very sturdy and the dimensions are perfect for my project—non plumbing use.

Been performing house plumbing for 55 years. Ran into a lot of "CHEAP" big box store plumbing crap made in the Asian countries. A lot of those plumbing fixtures fail 5 to 10 years down the road by very thin gauge or very cheap plastics causing leaky seals, corrosion leak throughs using too much drain cleaner or even slightly knocking the trap fixture out of position with an object.The Westbrass, 17-gauge plumbing products are the way to go if you want your plumbing job done correctly the first time along with longevity to those repairs.No, I do not work or have relatives working for Wesst Brass. Just believe they have a very "high quality" product.

This is nice thick brass and just what I needed since the tailpipe that came with a Kohler Duostrainer is only about 4" long.
