I’m using one of the wireless flash units with a MedaLight F1 flash and find that it works reliably and without issue, although I can’t say the same for the F1 flash unit itself. I like that these are rechargeable and have a built-in battery so I don’t have to carry spare AAs or AAAs around as well and is just more convenient in general. Build quality is good; the plastics look and feel high quality and the small units are put together well. I didn’t encounter any transmission issues either, so that’s a plus. A pretty decent, small hardshell carrying case is included which was a nice surprise and much appreciated. Overall, it does what it’s supposed to do, hasn’t given me any problems and I’m pretty satisfied with the system.

Product works great with a reach of about 25-27 ft. I've used it for just over a half hour so haven't really tested the battery life. Construction feels solid and well-made, and supports my flash set-up. Great value for its price and straight forward use. This product would be better if there was an option for a tripod screw adapter built-in to the receiver unit.

I do not use Flash much in my photography but this little device with the MEDALight F1 makes it easy to take along without adding the bulk and complexity of a larger TTL Flash. Most mirrorless cameras no longer have a built-in flash but the MEDALight F1 is a good alternative. It often is more desirable to deploy your flash "off camera" so you have control over the direction your flash is illuminating from. This is an excellent companion to the F1 and I typically leave them in my travel bag should the need arise for some additional light. The fact that you can charge via USB C is a bonus.

One of the sets I received had a defective receiver. The receiver in question doesn't charge or turn on. I reached out to the manufacturer through their web form - which was the recommended way from Amazon - and received no response. It's nice that they can be reprogrammed, but it would be nicer if I had the full working set I paid for. So even though one set worked well, they receive two stars for the failure rate and lack of support options.

As a sports photographer who occasionally handles headshots for media days, I was excited to add the MedaLight WF1 Wireless Flash Trigger to my kit. The room we use for headshots is designed for video and often poses challenging lighting conditions, so these triggers seemed like a great solution.First ImpressionsThe compact, protective case was a nice touch. It kept the units secure and made a great first impression. However, I was disappointed to find no instructions included in the box. I checked the company’s website for a user guide but came up empty. I even used their contact form to request help, but three weeks later, I still haven’t received a reply.Set-Up and TestingThe units came with a single USB-C charging cable with dual heads, allowing both devices to charge simultaneously—a thoughtful feature. Since there was no clear distinction between the two units, I connected one to my Nikon D7500 and the other to my Nikon Speedlight SB-600. After experimenting with the buttons, I managed to get them working. Initial tests in my office were promising; the flash fired consistently. The night before media day, I tested everything again, and it worked flawlessly. Confident in the setup, I ensured the units were fully charged for the big day.Performance on Media DayUnfortunately, the reliability I experienced during testing did not carry over. Once on-site, the triggers stopped working. As someone without extensive flash experience, troubleshooting under pressure was difficult. I abandoned the setup for the morning session. Over lunch, I tried again, but the results were inconsistent—sometimes the flash would fire, and sometimes it wouldn’t. Frustrated, I gave up and haven’t revisited the product since.Final ThoughtsThis product has potential, especially given its compact design and initial ease of use. However, the lack of instructions, poor customer support, and inconsistent performance make it a disappointment. For now, I can’t recommend the MedaLight WF1, especially if reliability is a top priority in your photography workflow.

Works flawlessly. I like to have a secondary flash fire from a different angle when taking product shots, and this allows me to do that. The units are small, pairing is quick, and I love the USB-C charging. While I can't personally verify this, I believe most of these wireless systems work on the same frequency, so all slave units should all be compatible with the one master trigger. Therefore it should be pretty easy to build out a whole system with these units. For the relatively low price, these are a great pickup!

I have been thinking and looking for a tool like this. This tool is a step in the right direction. I can now make my flash wireless. This trigger works well with IM30. IM30 is a small flash. It is great for travelling but it is not that powerful when for a zoom lens and distant photography. This MEDAlight trigger fills in the gap. I can put the IM30 closer to the subject away from the camera. The subject is better exposed and well light. This trigger is a low profile that makes it easy for me when I travel around. It keeps my devices compact yet good enough to take good pictures. One downside of this wireless trigger is it's tricker to distinguish between transmitter and receiver. The yellow color is not so obvious. Both lights look green to me. I think it would be better if both transmitter and receiver are labeled on the devices themselves.
