This was a factory replacement item for the burner element wiring for my particular model of JennAire stove top element. It is important to match the replacement wiring to the model of stove you are repairing. Earlier I had obtained a different wiring setup from a local appliance parts house whichwas too light and it burned out in a matter of months. This wiring harness has heavy duty wire and insulation coverings which is what I should have gotten in the first place. The stove works great now.

The socket works and fit the range top OK. The included shrink sleeve really helps to secure and somewhat seal the wire nut connection. The issue I have, and the reason I rated it 3 stars, is because the guide fins on the receptacle are too narrow and get tangled in the prongs of the heating element. Insertion requires being unusually precise about getting the element very flat and centered with the receptacle when inserting the element. Do to the nature of the element mounting ring the element has to be tipped up to get it into the location. What concerns me about this issue is removing the element for cleaning in the future and someone not knowing the trick to reinstall the element.

I have an older electric stove in a rental property and the resident reported that one of the burners stopped working. Looking closely, I determined that the clips that connected to the terminals at the end of the burners had become too loose. I got this to replace the original ones and installed by cutting and stripping the original wires, then connected the new part. It worked and now the burner heats up again. I did notice that the box containing the connectors is no longer made out of ceramic like the original part, but now it is some type of plastic. I'm assuming they determined the type of plastic that can withstand the high heat down there.Worth it to save an good working appliance from the landfill.

Unlike other (older) reviews, the one I received was NOT ceramic but rather plastic!! It worked for about 2 months before it popped and a fire broke out in the receptacle. The entire (plastic!) casing melted away. Thankfully we were right there and were able to put the fire out. However, why on earth would Whirlpool be selling a plastic part to conduct heat!!! My house could have burned down! DO NOT BUY THIS!!

This is a very good quality receptacle for your burner. It is ceramic and will far outlast plastic. The leads are insulated with a high temp jacket and the conductor is made of copper. It is much more flexible than a cheap aluminum receptacle.Ceramic wire nuts, hangers, and screws are included in the kit. I had to use the old hanger from the previous receptacle as the included screws were too small for my range. You may have to do the same, so don't throw out your old parts!Just get this over the chinese plastic ones. I tried the plastic ones only to find, they are not worth your money and time.Be safe repairing your appliances!

These replacement units seem much sturdier than the old (30+ year) plastic ones I replaced in my Jennair cook top. Rather than try to work through the burner openings, I decided to take the cook top apart. That turned out to be pretty easy; amounted to removing about a dozen screws. I also used a bit of solder to improve the connectivity of the twisted wire ends. The only issue I had is that the wire nuts provided are really a size too small for the size of the wires being twisted together.

I was hoping for the correct product for my stove. The plastic receptacle has melted from extreme use of the stove top. Ceramic is what caught my eye to purchase this product because it can withstand the heat, but I ended up receiving a plastic receptacle instead of a ceramic. Not happy. I read some reviews that some received ceramic and were satisfied, that was not my story. Good thing is that I have a product to use, but it wasn't correct advertised product.

The hardware kit is a quick and easy repair for burner tops. Older plugs wear out and can cause fire or short problems. The solution is inexpensive and takes minutes to install.

Much better than generic plastic replacement. Arcing from generic units melted hard plastic, and not a perfect fit.

Ordered 4 and was disappointed when I opened up the package and I received the cheap, flammable plastic version. Wish they would change the picture to reflect what you will REALLY receive when you order this item. Plastic is NOT the same as ceramic!!!
