Whiteside Machine Company was founded in 1970 as a general purpose machine shop in the basement of Bill & Bobbie Whiteside's home. Located in Western North Carolina near the furniture manufacturing town of Hickory, the company was often involved in making repairs or special parts for the furniture and woodworking field. A strong commitment to customer problem-solving, a can-do attitude, and innovative ideas, along with a growing core of dedicated employees, helped the business evolve into a manufacturer of woodworking equipment and tooling. Primarily through repeat business and referrals, the tooling business continued to grow to meet a demand for quality production router bits as well as custom application tooling. Today, Whiteside Machine occupies a 40,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and produces a complete line of solid carbide and carbide tipped router bits. Cut 50 spindles, walnut. Bit is still sharp and in perfect shape, no burn marks.

Removal of an old propane oven during a kitchen renovation created a need for new cabinet doors to match existing. Unfortunately, the interlocking wood door lumber is no longer available. Was able to "reproduce" the outward appearance using this Whiteside bit to create a shoulder on a groove made with a dado blade. The facsimile doors look nearly identical to the vintage ones. Can't speak for longevity of the bit, but it cut very cleanly using a Metabo HTP 18v router and 2.0Ah battery.

I had to make 24 grooves in some walnut and this bit stepped up big time! It still performs like new!

Used the bit to recreate a continuous diamond pattern that I saw in a video to make a box that appears seamless when closed. The bit was extremely sharp from start to finish and I'm very happy with it. Whiteside bits never disappoint.
