Classic Pasta Bistro Bowl - Chicken, Pasta and Mozzarella Cheese with Red SauceWell, I wanted to love this food topper and I did love another product by this company (Chicken Burrito) but the Classic Pasta just didn't live up to my expectations. First of all it is filled almost entirely with big chunks of chicken and pasta and even after adding the hot water, stirring, and waiting five minutes, the pasta is still really hard. Adding extra water (you're supposed to use equal amounts topper to water) doesn't seem to help soften them up either. I just don't think the consistency of this food allows for the water to properly soak in but my dog still ate it, hard noodles and all...There were also some pieces of chicken that didn't look good (dark spots) that I picked out..

real food but, with elbow noodles that oddly seem rubbery like..still a great mix and both our dogs LOVE it, especially because it has huge noticeable chicken pieces in it that they love and there is not just a little bit of them, the bag we received had a great amount of meat in it for sure..everything rehydrates quickly EXCEPT for the elbow noodles, they take much longer and even after 13-15 minutes, they are still like a softer rubber noodle, not sure these are made like normal human noodles are.Product is actually hard to measure 1/4 cup out given the various size and weight of the food and powder in it. like a little powder and 2 pieces of chicken can take up that 1/4 cp sometimes. What i’m doing is measuring food out by weight, i give my one medium size older dog an ounce as a topper mix-in with her annamet senior kibbles, i make sure to include a little of everything when i measure it out. each properly measured 1/4 cp is 77 calories i believe and 1/2 cp is about one ounce so about 150 calories per ounce and bag has 16oz. a decent amount of calories per ounce IF the calorie information on bag is correct and you want to feed a small dog with this.overall, decent topper for all dogs and a good meal for a small dog (with an added complete supplement). Price is about the norm for this type of human food for dogs.

I tried this as a topper for my dogs meal. I sprinkled just a little bit on her food and she loved it. Later that night, she had the worst gas I have ever smelt. The whole room was compromised. It woke us up from dead sleep in a panic to escape.Trying to give the benefit of the doubt, a week later we tried again. This gave her stomach time to process in case it was something else she got into at the time. Unfortunately for us, it was a repeat of last week. Potent, stong, and unbearable gas. How can a little dog have such powerful farts? If you ever have relatives over for dinner and need to get them to leave shortly after dinner, this is perfect. The stench lasts for a good hour and no one will be able to stay around for long being hit with the fumes.

This freeze dried food for dogs is a handy idea for both long term storage and for travel, since it's so light weight. Much easier to carry than heavy cans or pouches of wet food. I rehydrated this kibble topper and my dogs enjoyed it. All three of them ate it and it didn't seem to cause any stomach issues.

My dogs really enjoyed this, and it got my picky husky to gobble down his meals! I have always found toppers like this to take a lot longer than advertised to rehydrate. I will generally prepare far ahead of time, because 5 minutes just does nothing. It's easy enough to throw some in a tupperware with water and leave it in the fridge until the next meal.

This product is great to have at home when you want to add something special to your dog's meal. I like everything about this product: it smells and looks good, is made in the US, was easy to use, and my dog loved it. I like that the only ingredients are what I would eat and that it has an expiration date that is 2 years in the future. Also, as it's freeze dried, you don't have to use it all at once - just close the package and use again within the expiration period.I've tried several Whole Life Pet Products and while I must admit that their Recover Chicken and Rice meal is my favorite (I like having that on hand for when my pups have an upset stomach), these Bistro Bowls are a close second.It is expensive, but depending on your dog's weight, you can get several meals out of it.
