I bought it to remove rope knots. but it works great with paracord, nylon, hemp ropes, straps almost everything I go to work on. lightweight and you can use point or a small flat point depending which is better to use.

Though this does seem to be a sturdy tool and quite versatile (I would give it 4.5 stars), a couple of things might make it even better.I had bought it in the hopes of using it with narrow cord, but it seems that the larger, pointed tip is a bit thicker at the end than in the product photo, so it would be best to use with thicker paracord. A bit thinner tip might make it useful for more widths of cord.As for using it in various configurations, the photos on Amazon show 3, but you can really use it in 5 configurations, since you can remove the center portion and use it with either tip as a shorter tool. However, the thread on the adapter that attaches to the cord end is a bit long for the larger tip due to its internal structure, so it may not be quite as stable as using the smaller tip since it can't screw in all the way. I have debated cutting down the thread, but this might make the tool less stable overall, so I'll probably use it as-is.Overall, I think it will be a very useful, strong tool that can be used for many tasks even other than paracord weaving, such as burnishing leather edges or drawing stitching channels in leather (though a thinner tip would be more useful for that as well).

I like working with knots for fun and this tool has lots of uses beyond being a fid to loosen a knot. Not used often but very pleased with the purchase.

It keeps loosening at the points where it screws together even though I don’t use it super often. It is my first Knotting tool so a good starter I guess.

It's okay. Good size and weight. The convertible tip is an interesting choice, but I find it inconvenient to change it so I just don't use the other tip. The cone tip is blunt and flat, which isn't ideal. Fortunately, aluminum is soft enough to change, so I fixed it by very carefully using a Dremel to grind and polish the tip to a rounded and blunt point. It's somewhat more rounded now than in the photo. It is much more functional now with the rounded tip and I don't have any other complaints.

Some might say tactical.I immediately spun it around in my hands and nearly dropped it on my foot.I'd like it more if you could collapse both points inwards since it's so freaking big. But it's sturdy, light and well built.

I have many various types of fids and other tools used for my paracord projects but I have found that I use this item a lot more than I thought I would. As I am getting better and trying new things to make, this item will help. I could make due with out it but it will be with my tools always now

I use paracord for holding tarps when camping. This is a joy to get those season long knots undone.
