I read on the ASPCA's website that if your dog will only defecate inside the house it may have a fear of going outside. They recommended getting another dog so it will make it easier for him to go outside (yeah right!), borrow a friend's dog for a while (um, no...) or to get some dog urine from a family or friend and spread it across the lawn. That last idea seemed a lot more reasonable. I didn't know how to do it though but thought I had seen dog urine or some type of carnivore urine online somewhere. I also wanted to get it to try and keep a cat out of our backyard that had attacked one of our cat's.I searched on Amazon and this was the cheapest and best reviewed stuff online. Plus, it is from a canine so I decided to give it a try.I'm really glad it doesn't have a strong smell. My brother, whom we rent the basement from, would have killed me if it did. It's kind of a musky smell but not very pungent. I held my nose right over the top of the bottle and it wasn't bad, not saying that it was a likable smell though!I went outside to spray it using the sprayer that came with it. The sprayer can be hard to attach but if you press hard while screwing it down, it will eventually go. If you press the spray head down hard, it will mist very finely. If you press it down halfway lightly, more drops will come out than mist. I had a tiny bit blow back toward me when spraying and I could smell it easily but it didn't stick around. After that, I pressed lightly and only halfway down. I sprayed every post on our chain link fence and every tree trunk plus some of the foundation of the house, some wood on the bottom of the porch. Then I sprayed it all over the grass in the corners of the yard.I brought my puppy out and immediately he could smell it and took a dump right away. He seemed to smell it on the grass the first day and a little bit on a fence post. Then he started smelling the rest of the fence posts after he was done. Smelled the trees too and the lawn corners. Didn't smell it on the foundation or the porch posts though. The cats didn't seem to notice it as far as I could tell. The neighborhood bully cat attacked our cat again that night. So I don't think it works well on cats. Our sprinklers came on in the morning the next day and from what I noticed, cleared away the urine that was on the grass and most of it that was on the fence posts. I think the porch posts and foundation were wiped clean or are not strong enough. The trees apparently soaked in the urine or at least held onto it longer. My dog still sniffs the tree trunks and defecates close to them. It's been a few days now since I sprayed it the first time.I used 3/4 bottle the first time. I sprayed some fence posts and the trees again the second time after a few days. Then I tossed what little I had left near the fence where the other cat keeps coming in. I haven't seen the other cat, but I might have scared really good the last time. Our dog still defecates by the trees. Not so much by the fence posts.I'd say if you use it for hunting, spray it downwind. Maybe on some grass or dirt. If you're determined to have a coyote come to where you want it to, find some trees or other wood and spray it on that and then retreat a distance away from it to be safe. If you mist it, make sure you don't get hit with it by the wind slapping it back in your face. It's a really good product though. But I'm not a hunter, so this whole review may be irrelevant. I do hope the hunters can use some of this information to help them out on their hunt. Good luck to you hunters that use it!

I have four dogs. 3 different breeds. I emptied the bottle on the side of my yard, drenching about 4-5 different spots. I set up a gate and locked my dogs in the area and waited. They sat right by those spots and not one of them was able to pick up a scent. They just stared at me for five minutes. The smell to me is like a vinegar/ alcohol smell. It doesn’t smell like urine. I’ve never smelled coyote urine, but this did not smell like urine at all. Waste of money.

I used the coyote urine to train my dog to go to the bathroom in the backyard. I sprayed it in certain areas of the yard where I'd prefer him to go to the bathroom and I saw immediate results. He went straight to where I sprayed and pees and poops all the time now in those places. For this purpose it did a really great job.

I had multiple raccoons coming on my porch every night. Sometimes up to the door! Thanks to the product, I haven’t seen them in months! A little goes a long way!!

I bought this on the chance it would deter the local squirrels from dining on the tomato's. I sprayed the garden area and some of the tree's. It seemed to work the first few days. I sprayed it again to freshen the scent but they returned. In all honesty this stuff smells nasty and should repel critters. I really do not want to put this product down, it just didn't have the effect I hoped it would.

Only thing I have found that actually works for keeping the stray cats out of my yard

This is an awesome product! I will definitely be buying loads of this because it does deter critters in my yard!! skunks, squirrels and raccoons!! they love to dig up vegetable gardens but I have planted greens and I’ve used this Coyote urine from the beginning where I planted them and they are growing!! they have not been touched. I love it.

My neighbor has started throwing food out for the raccoons which means my yard is where they now come to eat whatever she throws out. I must have (7) raccoons because of this, and every night all they do is fight, loudly: I used this product around the area where they come into my yard, but It does NOTHING to stop them. They act like there is no order at all. The one raccoon actually sat on the rag that I had saturated with this product. I tried different ways to spray this and NOTHING stopped them from crossing the line of spray I put down. Don't waste your time, money and expectations on this. It did not work.

Honestly great, I have a few bottles for raccoons and skunks in my ward and they've never leaked or cracked during shipping.Quality also looks fair, definitely does not smell diluted (I checked). That said, price per volume is a little higher than what you'll find in any hunting gear shop.

It seems to work well although I have not seem it actually repell skunks an racoons, but where I have placed it these horride bests have not returned. You need to respray once in awhile to ensure no animal return.
