I needed something to maintain a clean edge between a rock garden and lawn. The turf is a mix of Bermuda and zoysia grasses. These cut a crisp clean edge and it looks great. I do recommend this product.

Plus: VERY SHARP blades.Plus: easier to navigate close to fencing or buildings, where a powered string-mower would catch in the fencing or scratch building surfaces.Negative (at first glance): the blades are vertical (aligned in the same plane as the handles). At first, I thought this would not work very well in tall grass, and I wanted the blades to be oriented in the same plane as the ground instead. But with just a slight "lean" or tilt with your arms, this blade arrangement works fine, both for edge trimming and for clearing larger open areas of tall grass and weeds.

This is a precision tool for edging areas of your garden where use of a string trimmer would be prohibitive. Excellent all round design, light weight and cuts like butter through the most coarse of grasses. Wipe the blades down after each use and store out of the weather. Do this and they will do the job year after year.

Saw this tool in action in Scotland and the mister instantly wanted one for our Virginia yard. Trimming the edge without having to kneel down is wonderful. Very sharp and easy to use.

Ease of use while in standing position so not hard on your backOther edge trimmers blow the grass into your garden and then grass takes hold and now you need to do more weeding. This eliminates that
