it smells just like moth balls. I got it because a friend suggested that it would keep cats from doing their business in the drive.. it didn't work for that purpose.

The texture is so-that a little goes a long ways. The same day the Willert Home Prod. E-10 Moth Flakes arrived I use along the outside insulated foam between steps and house where a critter was gnawing off the foam. Stop the critter instantly, no more ruin foam. Also strewed flakes to discourage stray cats using carport for litter box. So far (over a weeks time) everything is working out in my favor!

Small expensive camphor balls. Actually a bag of chips. I will use them sometime. I think the amount of product was not commensurate with the price. Oh well!

I use these flakes inside the pool heater over the winter to keep mice away from the wires. It works! I also sprinkle it on the ground perimeter outside the heater unit, but am careful to install a temporary (for the winter) screen/fencing around the heater to protect animals from the flakes. Been doing this for six years and no chewed up wires in the spring!
