Perfect weight and length to swing with one hand but still heavy enough to get the job done. Completely indestructible unless trying to prove a point. Been using one like is in the field for 7 plus years till I lost it and had to replace.

I've had this hammer for daily construction use for almost 3 years now and it has no signs of mushrooming or even much wear and tear. It is not only my favorite hammer, but many of my co-workers favor it over their own.

I'll give an updated review the more I use the Hammer.So far, I've only used it lightly, but for things that needed a little more umph than a Ball-peen hammer could deliver.This works. The only thing I would like with this hammer, so far in my usage.. is if the handle were a bit longer.I have another sledge hammer, 2.5 lbs, old school, with a wood handle, and the head has that hexagonal design.. but the handle is more ergonomic, and its better balanced. It has one more inch of length on the handle compared to the Wilton hammer. And it makes all the difference in the world, usage wise.

This hammer is lightweight, yet very solid and sturdy! Sure, there are cheaper sledge hammers on the market; This one, however, is designed to last a lifetime. Time will tell.... For now, I will say this much -- It actually looks and feels like it WILL last forever!

I own the large sledge hammer from Wilton and it is one tough tool so when I misplaced my small (older hand held sledge hammer), I immediately ordered this hammer and so far it is of excellent quality and workmanship. A fine safe tool for anyone's tool inventory. I highly recommend it!!!

I so wanted to like this hammer. If I had bought one that was 4 or 4+ lbs on the head I think I would of loved it. But the 2.5 lb head just wasn't heavy enough to balance with the somewhat heavy handle. It felt awkward when I would swing it. I sent it back.
