Great kit. Plenty of yarn. Easy to follow videos. My daughter was not able to do it. But she is just too young. Kids love playing with the finished product though. Seems like it will hold up well. The only downside is the instructions for the hen are wrong in one step. The stitch count is off by about 10 stitches. Really cute set finished it in about a day. New to crocheting.

PROS: I’m still relatively new to crocheting and this particular set was extremely easy to follow with easily manageable yarn whereas I had a difficult time following the instructions from other crochet kits previously purchased on Amazon. I was able to make both the baby chick and chicken mama within a few days while on vacation. The set includes extra yarn to which I was able to utilize to make personal tweaks, despite possibly using extra yarn in my projects, I was still left with a decent amount of yarn.CONS: Only thing I would say that needs improvement is the formatting of the instruction videos. They’re segmented clips divided into 10 or more videos, I would prefer for the instructions to be formatted into a single long format video with highlighted markings to indicate specific instructions on each sectioned row. Often times I had to refresh the webpage because I ran into playback issues with the videos the more I progressed along which was kind of cumbersome since I had limited access to wifi.Overall, I would give this kit 10/10 for its price point, quality of materials, quantity of materials and straightforward/easy to follow video instructions in english. This definitely beats other competitors currently on the market! Too bad they only have this one kit available, I will definitely be keeping an eye out in the future for more releases from this brand!! Would highly recommend this for beginners who are wanting to learn the basics of crocheting and need introductory lessons for starting out.EDIT: I ended up using the excess yarn to make an oversized egg coaster! Definitely enough yarn was provided to make another crochet project that fits the chicken and egg theme, super pleased with the outcome of these projects.

My friend is obsessed with little chicks. And she’s pregnant. All in all, this was a solid kit. I've never crocheted before and wanted something easy but cute. It came with all the pieces needed and I was able to follow along for the most part. It lost a star due to some issues with the instructions:1. Video for chick for round 11 is incorrect - it repeated round 10. I had to use the written instructions for the instructions for 11.2. For egg top, it says "This is the bottom half of the egg." Small typo and not a huge deal.For the written instructions, I wish each round that repeated had its own line and checkmark. It was really handy using it to keep track of each round so when it put multiple rounds under one "checkmark," I had to keep track manually.If I had any experience, I believe I would have understood immediately but as a beginner, these small issues hindered me just a bit.Perhaps there are easier ways to do everything but I did my best as a beginner. :)Overall, this was a great beginner kit, and had easy instructions. I loved how this kit had 3 different projects and could dabble with the easiest and work my way up to the chicken.

This kit was perfect! It was really easy to crochet. The instructions are awesome and it comes with everything you need for the project. My 14 year old and I worked on it together and had an awesome time.

I'm still pretty new to crocheting, but know enough to read a pattern fairly well. I really wanted this pattern, even though it's marketed to beginners.I was used to a different brand that offers the pattern after purchase, and I thought this would be the same.The artist, however, doesn't use the typical crochet nomenclature, and I think this is to the detriment of the student. Teach what an increase stitch is. Don't say "two single crochet stitches in the next stitch" as it's needlessly confusing.I know they say it's for reference following along with the video, but part of the fun of these is being able to go back and make the same patterns to hone skill. That makes it nearly impossible.The other thing I dinged a star for is that both of my crochet hooks that came with the kit fell apart. I noticed them spinning as I worked the yarn and sure enough, the rubber grip started sliding down the hook. This makes it very frustrating and difficult to crochet well.Still, the pattern is absolutely adorable and the egg opening to expose the chick inside is so cute!If you're an ABSOLUTE beginner, go for this kit. Just know that you're not really learning proper pattern reading. And maybe consider getting a higher quality hook.
