They are very light and delicate. The tinkling is a very light sound not loud and obnoxious. I did not recall seeing in the write up that if it was near a light source the solar light would not go on. The info came in the package. Apparently the light pole across the street is too close so it does not light up. I still like it because it is very pretty they catch the sunlight and sparkle. I was able to get the lights to work. They are so colorful. They change colors and reflect off the hanging birds. I am so pleased with them.
