This is a solid light with a bright beam and good construction. I received it in late November and it's a bit chilly to dive (though I've done some cold water and a little ice-diving it's not my thing). I gave it a dunk test and it stayed dry; the waterproofing looks good although you need to be careful to maintain the o-rings and inspect them for damage and/or presence of hair or other contaminants that would cause a leak under pressure. I've seen some reviewers dismayed by the lack of a usb charging port; I'm guessing those folks don't dive much. You want as few holes as possible that need to be sealed. This light does that right. I found the headband, made of rubber, uncomfortable on land; it would probably be better in the water. I got about 3 hours of light at high paper and the light did not get too hot, sometimes a concern with underwater lights used on land. The color-changing LED on the power switch does indicate the battery level, but you won't be able to see it when the headlamp is on your head above your mask. Also, depending on the style of the mask it may not be possible to adjust the beam downward to center on your area of view. Another area of contention seems to be the batteries; they are the 16850 type and these are among the best for this type of use. The supplied charger works, but I have better chargers and lithium batteries can be dangerous if not charged properly; I'll be using chargers that are more substantial than the unit that was supplied. Getting 2 batteries is a plus as the batteries are a bit pricey (though they last a long time with care, and are easily found on Amazon and other sites; often with higher capacities). Also, the light does not give off 8,000 lumens (as it says in the title) or even 6,000 (as it says in the description), but it is bright. Some wonder about the usefulness of the SOS setting, well if you've ever surfaced far offshore in 3' waves and the dive boat has drifted away from you far enough that you can't see it you wouldn't be questioning the utility of an SOS setting. I'll mostly be using mine for field work at night when it's raining and it will excel at that; I'll definitely take it along the next time I go under.

This headlamp is very bright. The elastic band is pretty strong too and doesn't move around much at all.The battery life is very decent too. Charging doesn't take too long, which is a real plus. It's easy to use and the size of it makes it easy to store.

This dive light was delayed and arrived the afternoon that I left for five days and nights of diving on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Upon arrival from my trip of days and nights of Hawaiian diving, I had the opportunity to evaluate the WINDFIRE 8000 Lumen Diving Headlamp. During daylight I charged the batteries and one has to charge both batteries simultaneously to complete the circuit and get a charge on, the batteries arrived without a charge and it took hours to condition the batteries. The UW headlight comes with two high-end, high-capacity 4,000 mAh batteries. The battery charger operates just as one would expect and is sturdy. The headlight is machined aircraft aluminum and clearly seals will as I found out in a low-pressure dunk test – Bathtub. The headlamp came with some spare clear silicone gaskets. I would have preferred more standardized, thicker black rubber gaskets to seal the battery compartment, but there were a couple of spare gaskets included. Might be tough find some once these gaskets wear out. With all gaskets, its important to examine the gaskets frequently to make sure that they are clean and no debris. When I powered up the headlight I was astonished by the output and not sure if it’s putting out 8K Lumens, but its more than enough in or out of water. It’s a respectable bright white focused beam, that easily reached 100’ and then some. UW Lights have an issue with overheating outside of water and can damage the LED by overheating, this does not seem to be the case with this headlight. I like that the power button provides a change of color around the on/off button to let one know remaining power levels. The headband for the headlamp is a bit clunky, but works okay. Its hard to tell without having been in the ocean currents to truly test if the headlamp holds its position with the headband, which is important for these kinds of lights.I would give this underwater diving headlamp Four Stars as it provides all that is intended and more on Amazon. I have no way of testing the exactness of 8K Lumens or waterproofness at a depth of 262’ at this time. IPX8 rating means a device will function properly even after being submerged in fresh water for up to 30 minutes under specific conditions (15~35 ℃, 86-106 kPa, up to 1.5m depth). I have to take the manufactures word that this scuba diving light can be submerged up to 262 ft? As a former commercial diver, I would hesitate to take this dive headlight to more than 130’ let alone 262’.Price/Performance at a price of less than $50 is a great short-term bargain.

The WINDFIRE Diving Headlamp has some useful features but also drawbacks. The 8000-lumen brightness is impressive (is it actually 8000? Hell Naw) providing good visibility underwater, and the IPX8 waterproof rating means it can handle depths up to 80 meters. The three lighting modes are versatile, making it suitable for various diving conditions. The rechargeable battery and included charger are convenient, saving money on replacements. However, the headlamp can feel a bit bulky during use, and the battery life may not last as long as advertised, depending on the mode. Additionally, some users might find the beam’s focus too narrow for broader underwater exploration. While it’s a decent option for recreational diving, there’s room for improvement in comfort and battery performance.

Nice headlamp for underwater scuba or snorkeling. I've used this several times in the water for both scuba and snorkeling. It is easy to turn on even with gloves and the brightness is nice. Hasn't leaked yet and the headband stays on without being too tight.
