Bought this to replace some spiral balance units on my windows. It works, kind of, so flimsy that you can't put more than 3 turns of preload into the balance or the jaws spread and it slips off the balance and the balance springs back violently. You have to bend the jaws back into shape after every use. Pay the extra and get a better one, you'll get less blood on your window sill.

The tool came in quickly and with no issues. The Window Balance Spring Replacement Tool says it is a heavy-duty stainless steel window tension tool for window track cleaning, tilt spiral balance, or changing window parts and hardware. Unfortunately, the tool is more mid-duty to light duty, not as strong as others that I have used. The fit is fine, but the ends twist easier than they should. I would buy one that is stronger, because if it twists, you're going to have to get a stronger one anyway. Because of the lack of strength in the tool, there is not much value.

This is waste of time. As another review say, you can only get 2-3 turns before it snaps out.Very badly made item. Should not be sold on Amazon. Save time and buy something that has good reviews... Don't be like me.
