Early last fall this scoundrel raccoon took up residence on my deck. Sleeping by day under the grill cover occasionally coming out on nice days to sunbath by the screen door. At night he knocked over planters, played with gardening tools and made his presence known to my two cats! They watched safely from inside the glass door while stuck his nose against the glass and screen. Nothing I did sent him scattering! Then he began clawing the screen! On his two nights of destruction he ripped the screen so badly a person could climb through it; he also scratched madly at the decking next to the house tearing off the metal edging!I knew my landlord would take forever to repair the screen so I knew I had to do it myself. Years ago I had replaced the one before this current one so I knew it wasn’t difficult. But being a renter who is moving out within months I was looking for the least expensive option without using cheaply made materials. I looked at a lot of options reading their reviews before deciding on this one. The timing of the delivery day factored in. I wanted it delivered after the snow/rain event being that my Amazon packages are rarely delivered to my apt door. They’re left on the other side of the building and unprotected. Well, I arrived home 4 hrs after delivery to find it sitting next door in a puddle with melting snow from the roof dripping on it lol It didn’t have an outer wrapper, the screen was wet and was hung over the shower rod to dry overnite. Not sure if Amazon is accountable for poor packing or the company?I had read not to get the gray to go with black so I did just that. The screen is soft, plyable and thick but not as thick as the expensive pet screening I have lining the deck rails. But perfectly strong if you have cats, small or gentle dog scratchers! Mine aren’t out of control but sometimes get excited over a bird or a bug flying by. I cut each section of the cording when I reached the end of the side I was doing. I used clothes pins and heavy duty tape to secure the screen in place but pulled them off as I approached so there was enough give for the screen to pull from the outside so it didn’t put too much pressure on the tight inner screen. I still have to put the handle back on. The lock hasn’t worked in years so it will be easier than last time.Solid product, easy to install if you watch a few utube videos! As usual for me, LOUSY DELIVERY!!

Screen kit gives you everything you need for easy installation. Durable screen and simple to work with. Price is great compared to big box stores!

I've never replaced a window screen before but felt confident after seeing many reviews that it would be manageable. I found it easy enough with a buddy, but I did need additional tools for removing and later replacing the aluminum splines from my Andersen windows. (I gather the aluminum splines are not meant to be reused, but I didn't want to purchase new window screens and this was much cheaper). I didn't need the rubber spline that came with the kit, but found the roller helpful for getting the screen to sit nicely in the U-gutter where the spline holds the screen in place. I needed a buddy to help-- one person holding the screen in place while the other placed the spline. Got two windows done quickly (less than an hour, despite accidentally warping the aluminum splines the first go around).

This screen replacement kit was amazing! Great quality screen! I'm not very mechanically incline and I was able to do all of my screens on my own, and they actually came out prefect!! I was quite proud of myself. But the credit does go to this kit, very east to use. I do recommend buying more retainer spline. The kit does not include a lot if you're doing more than one screen. Very happy with my purchase and I will be back when I need to replace my screens again.

My dogs had ripped through the screen that came with our door. Bought this to replace it and it comes with enough to redo it if I need too. So easy to install, the tool included is a game changer! Dogs have scratched at the screen since installation and it’s holding up great! Would recommend!!

This was the first time I replaced a window screen and I was a bit apprehensive, even after watching a couple of videos on how to do it. It really is just as easy as it looks in the videos. I found that the included tool worked just fine. The only things I needed that were not included were a flathead screwdriver (to get out the original spline and to help install the new spline around the corners), and a sharp utility knife (to trim the leftover screen). One thing that was helpful for me that I didn't see in the videos was using some spring loaded clamps to hold the screen onto the frame while I used the tool to insert the spline into the slot - not sure how much it helped, but it didn't hurt. No wrinkles in the screen once it was installed.

Had to redo the cording a few times to get all the creases out of the screen. So speed to completion was impacted. The size was accurate. The tool is not difficult to use. The material seems durable. Good visibility while looking. Took about 20 minutes to install.
