I tried every other tool Amazon sells to remove my wiper arms. The small silver hand crank tool and two different styles of two jaw pullers. All of them did not have the depth to get under the arm completely so they slipped and ruined my aluminum wiper arm. This did the trick in seconds. The pivot on the end of the bolt is also extra-large as to not damage threads on your wiper stud and nut.

I tried two other cheap pullers before I purchased this one. This was the only puller that works every time. This puller also won't damage the paint on the wiper arm, unlike some of the cheaper ones. It worked very well on my BMW X5 and X1 wiper arms, and I highly recommend spending a little more for a well built unit that you won't be disappointed in.

I don’t know what the real BMW tool is like, but this worked ok for me and it was a fraction of the price. It was a little wiggly so you have to be careful to keep it in place so it lifts the wiper and doesn’t slip off the bolt. Also make sure that you keep the wiper in the correct position (coming off and going back on) and don’t let the spring of the wiper push it at an angle which just makes you work harder and puts pressure on the bolt (that really has nothing to do with this tool unless the real BMW tool has some way to do that, but if you keep the wiper in the correct position this tool is easier to use).
