Instructions for Wine Bottle Opening
Step 1:
Extend the foil cutter over top of wine bottle, then give it a squeeze and a twist. Expect a clean, perfect cut every single time.
Step 2:
Insert the spiral fully into the cork. The boot lever will lock up straight during insertion. Pull to extract about 7/8" of the cork. Press the boot lever in and pull again to yank the rest of the cork straight out.
A great improvement on the traditional cork screw with knife. Open wine bottles in 15 seconds or less.

Such a good product for such a little price. I've purchased one for everyone in the family as they all oohh and ahhh over mine. The guillotine slices the foil so easily and the weight feels good in the hand.

Good corkscrew, works well. One thing that makes it stand out: TSA! Instead of a sharp foil cutter, it has a clever, pop-out cutter that can go through TSA, and who knows, you might need a bottle of wine in your hotel room later.

This wine opener replaced a similar one that we had used for years and years. This new one works just as well as the older one. It is safe to use since there is no open blade to cut off the plastic or thin aluminum cover over the cork. The circular cutter works very well indeed to quickly and cleanly remove the top portion of this cork cover.Simple design that is well made and much easier to use than some of the large and complicated wine openers for sale.Recommend this product.

Compact to fit easily in the pocket of a waiter’s apron, easily unfolds for use. Quickly and neatly trims away the top of the foil (no ugly, ragged, torn foils). Polished wire screw drives in easily without tearing up the cork. Has good leverage for easy extraction of the cork.Bought to replace one we forgot at an AirBnB, this is just a tiny bit heavier in the hand than the version you might find at Williams Sonoma, but equally functional and maybe more sturdy, should last a lifetime. As elegant for its purpose as a quality hammer.

This little wine opener and I have traveled the world. I bought it in 2018 and have visited many countries flying on many airlines. Every now and then, it is flagged by TSA personnel while going thru airport security. I got into the habit of placing it in an easily accessible pocket of my carry-on bag so that they can find it quickly, examine it and send me on my way. It’s been inspected by many security officers and they always let me take it onboard. That is until I was in Madrid.They confiscated it! I felt like they were using the law to steal it from me and I had no recourse but to allow it. I kept my mouth shut and walked away fuming. I was pissed. When I returned home from the trip, I contacted Oenophilia and explained what had happened. I said that since they advertised their product as TSA approved, would they replace it. They said yes and I received my brand new wine opener today just in time for my next trip! I am very much pleased with their product and with their customer service. Way to go Oenophilia!

The first time I was given one of these wine openers it was very sturdy and had metal in the foil cutter. It was a great wine opener. The newer design that I just bought to replace my now years-old opener from the same company seems to be less sturdy, the foil cutter has no metal edge and slides all the way apart into separate pieces, and generally isn’t as sturdy as the older version. The company has gone from provdiding a great opener to now providing one that is just ok. Not the proper direction for evolutionary design.

Does not come with a small knife so TSA won’t flag and confiscate it
