Winsor & Newton Professional Acrylic (previously known as Artists' Acrylics) is our finest quality acrylic range and represents a breakthrough in acrylic color technology. After extensive research and development, we are proud to present the brightest ever range of Professional Acrylic. By combining our color making experience with the latest developments in resin technology we have taken 'brilliance' to a new level. And that's not all. Not only are our colors brilliant when wet but they remain as bright when dry - so what you see is what you get. Working with artists around the world confirmed that above all else, acrylic artists want the brightest, most vivid colors that do not change as they dry. Our range of Professional Acrylic represents a significant breakthrough in achieving this and much more. Titanium White is a clean white pigment. It is the most opaque white pigment and is considered a standard strong white color.

Permanent Rose is a favorite acrylic paint of my art instructor. I ordered it to use in class. I am very pleased with its consistency and how it mixes/blends with other Golden paints.

I've taken a lot of art classes & will continue to use acrylic paint of this & the other 2 excellent brands. Not sure if I'm "allowed" to say the other brands' names. Sheerness is not a quality one seeks in Payne's gray so it was fine. For newbies, Payne's gray is a very cool color because it ranges from darkish gray to nearly white when mixed with white paint. Medium amounts of white added make a variety of lovely blue shades - go figure! In some instances it is good for shading, even though the "rule" is to use the compliment of the color you're using for shading (for example, if main color is red, you'd mix red with its compliment green). If you're painting something white, it is perfect for shading. The tubes are made of lead & crinkle easily which wastes paint & makes it hard to squeeze. I've ordered a lot of paint from Amazon & 2 did arrive with 1, a huge dent, & 2, a smallish indentation. I suggest carefully squeezing from the bottom up (reminds me of the claim that 1 of the most fought over issues in cohabitors is how to squeeze). I sometimes fold up the used part & attach a small binder clip to it. In plastic tubes I literally cut it in 3 places when it seems empty but you wouldn't believe how much paint is actually left! I don't know if that's applicable with these as I've never tried it with a lead tube. Have fun!

I am primarily and acrylic artist but have been branching out more and more into watercolor over the years, which is where I first came across this pigment and was shocked to find that it isn’t really made in acrylic, although that it likely due to the natural translucency of the pigment, something which naturally lends itself to watercolor, and less to acrylic which is generally prized for its opacity and layer-ability. I however do a lot of portrait work and REALLY appreciate translucent pigments like this for glazing and undertones, truly a staple for portrait artists

I wasn't sure if it's worth investing in PRO grade white color, but I've already repurchased this product twice. Reason is it is super opaque, so a tiny bit goes a long way, and it can always be diluted.I was shocked how small the biggest container is, but now I know why. It is very thick, so I often have to dilute it for better spreadability. I usually need to build white solid background and found out it is much easier to use two thin layers than trying to get the coverage from X layers. With this paint I get the desired opaque level much quicker. And in comparison with lower grade white paint it doesn't form that plastic sheet when dried, so it has much nicer texture. No peeling, no strong acrylic paint smell, great coverage, I am in love, give me more.

This paint comes in a metal tube, which is important. It is not pre-mixed with water, which the ‘acrylic’ paint I can purchase at home doesn’t come in. Walmart paint is also pre-mixed with water, and isn’t opaque, and doesn’t paint right. It also dries on your brush too fast and ruins brushes. This color is the same as the rocks on the ground can be where I live. I didn’t realize it has blue in it, but I should have known that when it was labeled ‘violet.’ I’ll buy red iron oxide next time. Thank you!

I don't appreciate the fact that the paint is much darker than shown on the tube label. See photo. Otherwise this brand of acrylic paint works well.
