For the price this was solid and the fact that it has Google play store is solid. It’s a WiFi device so make sure you have a hotspot plan otherwise it won’t work. The CarPlay is solid but I use the Android side with the apps with my iPhone or Galaxy Fold. Problem is how to get the apps to show up on the home screen so they can be used. Still figuring that out. A solid device to use and straight forward setup.

I always use card readers when I travel. It’s an easy way to connect my computer with photos from my camera. I saw this reader and asked Amazon to review it.I found this card reader to be very functional and does a good job. It has an SD port and a micro-SD port. It has a USB 2 (3) connector. The problem is that the world is going to the USB-C connector. This is great on my older devices, but I need a converter if I want to use it on my newer electronic devices. It is for that reason I have taken off one star.I have compared the speed of this reader on my computer. I downloaded a 1GB file to a micro-SD card several ways. I first used the SD slot on my computer with just the micro-SD card (with a converter). I then used this card reader with the micro-SD card. I found that downloading the file from my computer to micro-SD card was more than 2 times slower than when using the card reader in the computer's USB 3 port. I used both ports on the card reader (the micro-SD and the SD) r and their numbers were the same. So I have to say I’m pretty happy with the speed.I really like the fact that you can put in a micro-SD card in this reader, close the top and have flash drive.

design is compact and practical, but material quality is poor and bulky. it seems to slow the initial speed of the memory card. overall it is a pretty usable reader with middle to low-quality buil.

It's hard to believe, but laptops today are STILL being produced without a built-in SD/microSD card slot! If you have one of these laptops, this item could be your salvation. This item plugs into a USB (USB-A) port on your computer, and allows you to read full size SD cards. MicroSD cards go into the tiny slot under the cap on the end of the card reader (and the cap on the end can be closed with a microSD card in the slot). By leaving a microSD card in the reader "under the cap," you can effectively turn this into any size USB thumb drive that you desire.I run PCLinuxOS on my computers, and the card reader was immediately recognized and allowed full, unfettered access to my files stored on a microSD card. I tried both the microSD slot, as well as reading the card in a full-size SD card adapter, and both worked exceptionally well.

The card reader arrived this morning. I use an old digital camera and tend to need to upload images to my PC daily. I had been fumbling with a card reader attached to a long USB cord (all one unit) which was unwieldy, so I was happy to try this card reader. It is the size of a generic flash drive. It plugs into a USB port just as a flash drive would. When not plugged in, it has a cover that swings over the port to protect it. The reader does work. I plugged it into my PC and was able to get images off my memory card onto my PC.Four and not Five Stars: At first I thought that my card was not going to actually fit into this reader as it didn't seem to want to go into the slot. After the first try, I used another card rather than risk damage to my "good" card. It did require more force than I expected to get the card in and out of the reader, but the slot did accept the card. I don't know if this is normal for card readers - my old one certainly doesn't require that kind of force, nor does the camera. I'm a little concerned that repeatedly using that much force is going to damage the connectors on the memory card. If I was certain that long-term, repeated usage wasn't going to somehow degrade the card over time, I'd give it a five stars.

Note: The version I am reviewing has just two slots, SD and microSD, and it doesn't appear to be currently available. This SD card reader works as expected in both slots. My data transfer was fast and there was no corruption, and it's a good convenient size, the same as a USB dongle. I have a handful of cameras that use SD cards and this is the most convenient way to get that data off them.

This little CF card reader masquerading as a thumb drive is a handy item to carry while traveling, or keep at your computer desk. It can handle a standard CF card in its side slot, and a micro, without having to be mounted in and adapter, in its covered end slot. Works fine for me so far. It's all plastic, so don't be too rough with it, though it feels sturdy enough. A couple of other suggestions: 1) Keep it in some type of container to keep out dust and moisture...The small zip-close envelope it comes in will do for that. and could hold a few cards as well. 2) Attach a little lightweight lanyard to it (it has an end loop for that), so you can quickly pick it out from your regular data thumb drives.
