I replaced the heavy tail pieces on both my grand kids cellos with these . The built in fine tuners turned easy without binding . They did not rattle plus they were not as heavy as the original parts . I did use a titanium tail piece cord on the second tail piece I replaced because the nylon cord was stiff and a little more challenging to install .

This tailpiece is exactly as advertised. I did some youtube research and found that the tailgut was stiff and would need a few days to stretch and hold tune. I purchased this tailpiece to replace to one that came on my cell. It took me about 15 minutes to install. I tuned and on the 7th (tune changed), on the 8th tune changed but not buy much, on the 9th. The tune was stable. So be prepared to re-tune for a couple of days while the stiff tailgut settles in.Excellent price and product.

We purchased a nice upscale 4/4 cello for my grand daughter and really stepped up the sound from her old student cello.It was a little hard to tune so we added some fine tuners to the existing tailpiece but didn't get any real improvement in performance. We asked one of our local Luthiers what we could do to improve the instrument and he suggested 2 things, get a wittner tailpiece and a carbon fiber bow. Great improvement on both counts. Tried the tailpiece first and found it to be very easy to install and tune. Highly recommend this over the standard tailpiece aor the add on fine tuners. wittner has a very nice high quality product at very reasonable prices. Tried the carbon fiber bow and found that it was easier to play and further improved the sound. Great way to step up the performance of your instruments.

This is a nice and reasonably priced product. I replaced a tailpiece on an old German cello that had no fine tuners. The surprise was to achieve a brighter sound as well.

The original tail piece that came with my cello, worked OK, but less than 2 months later, it became very difficult to turn the fine adjustment screws. They became so hard to use, that I almost needed pliers to finger adjust the screws. Without the strings tightened on that tail piece, the screws were easy to turn, but when the strings were tightened again, I could hardly make the adjustments again. This tail piece works so easily in comparison. It was easy to replace and the screws now finger-turn with ease under the normal string tension. It may be my imagination, but the sound quality of the cello seems more pleasant as well (my other tail piece was metal, this one is a composite material). Just a reminder that if you do this yourself, you should have a sound post device ready in case the sound post drops when all the strings are loosened. You also should note the location of your sound post and its vertical rotation position as well (there is usually a marking on it for you to know how to orient it again). I found it best to have the cello lying on the floor, loosen the strings carefully, and then do the replacement without making any unnecessary jostling motions to the body of the cello.

Installed it on my cello. It works as it should. Looks a bit "cheap" though. Hence only for stars. But i bought a cheaper brand, so cannot complain
