Just a basic and very loud metronome. Comes with a little earpiece for one ear. Very loud and excellent for any instrument (maybe not for a harp, lol). Just the basics. A dial lets you set the tempo (1/4 notes go to 208 BPM). Includes a nice stop on the dial for a pure 440 tone for tuning. Has an earphone jack and an on/off switch. can be set to just keep time with a flashing red LED and no sound. Has a little lean-to wire stand built in. A great, compact, little metronome for any musician.

This metronome is brilliant. For a really low price, it is a good, small handy size - two and a half by three and a half inches by one inch thick. It is easy to carry in your pocket and has it's own stand even though it will stand upright without the need for this. Dialling up the click speed you want is as simple as it gets because of the dial and you can use earphones if preferred, so not to disrupt other people with your practice. The click sound is just right for practicing too and there is also a flashing red LED in case you prefer to practice only with a visual cue. You also get an ear piece with the metronome so you've got every thing you need. I only wish I'd bought it much earlier instead of struggling with a push button type that takes ages to change the tempo. It's a real God-send. Wonderful.

No bells, no whistles, no volume control (it's fairly loud --some may want to lay it face down on a pillow, although the volume is just right for me). This metronome by Wittner does exactly what a metronome is supposed to do, and it's simple to use -- just turn the dial directly to the beats-per-minute you want. At first I thought it unwise to order such a low priced item (relative to some of the other metronomes), thinking instead I should pay more for some other brand in hopes of getting something more likely to "keep on working" (like the Ever-ready bunny). I'm very glad, however, that I went with this Wittner. It seems very well made, has little if anything to quit working because of only one (manually controlled) moving part (the dial) -- other than the metal leg that handily lifts out to act as a stand on which to tilt the metronome back at about a 50 degree angle. The blinking light on the face of the instrument, however, is as another reviewer mentioned -- too dim to be of much use unless you are nearby and looking right at it. As far as rating the Wittner, I give the unit four stars only, not because of the not-so-bright light, but because the sound the metronome emits is similar to that of two wooden blocks "clacking" together, and I would have preferred the "clicking" sound of the old metronomes of the past with which I was familiar as a young boy when I started out on the piano fifty years ago. Otherwise, it seems to be a five star item.

This metronome is just what I needed. First, it's a great size - small enough to carry in my pocket, my briefcase or my gig bag, yet large enough to see easily and use. I can't stand a "beep" sound. This has a very crisp wooden block sound, which is loud enough to hear over the piano but not distracting. The earphone is a very handy option. I often use it late at night playing my dulcimer, or piano practice when others in the house are already dealing with me struggling through scales and don't want to hear the steady 'tock' - often not in sync with anything! The earphone sound is appropriately quiet. Another larger and more expensive metronome I purchased for my daughter has a dial the same size as this one, but is difficult to set and nearly impossible to read. This dial is very easy to set with the large knob and very easily readable for my senior eyes. Last, I didn't have much money for a new metronome and this one is priced right. Overall, this is a great metronome and I couldn't be happier with my selection!

This is the best metronome I've had. I've purchased 2. It is really loud, and there's no volume control, but you can use the flash or headphone jack. I can't stand the beeping metronomes, and this gives a really nice click sound. Also tou can quickly dial in the tempo with the wheel. No holding a button down while it digitally scrolls through the numbers. I highly recommend and will purchase this one again when I lose/break this one.

Works great! Reminds me of the one I had as a kid. I first bought a fancier one but returned it for this basic type.

As a singer, I hate metronomes that have an electronic beep or anything that sounds like a pitch. If you're singing a piece in C Major, and your metronome is beeping at something resembling a C-sharp, it's disconcerting and interferes with your sense of pitch. This metronome is perfect. It has a crisp, loud, wood-block-type sound, but the sound is complex enough that it's not on an easily discernable pitch. Plus, it's very easy to use (just turn the dial -- that's it!) and it is durable. I have squashed mine in my bag many times, left it in a hot car, etc. It's still doing great!

As expected from Wittner, this Metronome is in good quality, easy to use, offers a perfect click sound + pulse light, fits easily on top of desk with it's own stand perfectly, powered by a long lasting battery which means years (battery was not included), we very much liked this product. Enjoy it!

I love my WITTNER 902690 MT-50 Metronome. Yes, it looks old-fashioned, but the simple knob to adjust the tempo and the firm loud traditional 'tock' sound is perfect. I like the traditional metronome BPM settings as well.
