Was not certain if this Wix (51529) filter would interchange on my MTD log splitter filter (723-0405), it fit perfectly and is probably a better filter than the original. Price was a little high but still less than the OEM. Hard to be the quality of Wix filters.

This is a good filter for my wood splitter hydraulics, but it arrived side- dented in its original paper carton stuffed into a thin shipping bag. Function was not affected so I used it for this open air application where I can keep an eye on it.
