I trace the image with welders chalk and graphite paper. Going over it with a sharpie makes it easier for cutting. I never cut the template so it's easy to fold up. Nails are great for alignment. CopperCoat and paint makes it last years.

I had the area woodworker make this for the 4th of July pontoon boat parade. It is awesome and meaningful addition to our boat decorations. It is now being used in the yard for special days like Memorial Day. The plans were perfect.
