These are nice boxes. I like the hinging system that consists of more than just tiny screws into the wood and a hinge. Not sure what you call it, but it's a better system (zoom in on pictures). The finish is nice and even, the wood is sturdy and all corners even. The locking mechanism is, sort of flimsy, but with gentle touch it works fine. Look at it while it's working and you'll see how to turn it and make it work smoothly.

The box appear well made, the one star drop is due to the locking mechanism that could be better. Otherwise, both boxes provide ample room for my intended purpose.

Chess boxes are very expensive. These boxes were a great compromise. They are nicely refinished.. Just needed to apply self-stick felt on the inside walls to make them really, really nice as chess storage boxes

I admit these are good quality wood boxes, however the quality ends with the wood. The lids don't close properly on either box leaving about 1/8th-1/4" gap, the lock won't even latch on the small box, and on the large box I have to push and move the lid around and turn the key REALLY hard and it will "clunk" as it locks. It's only a matter of time before that breaks. I specfically purchased these to be able to latch and lock them. Not happy or impressed at all...

I love it cause I can lock my keep same things in both boxes.

Yes it’s wood but the lock doesn’t work well. Otherwise, they are beautiful boxes.

The lock was broken had to fix it myself, somehow I managed to get it to work but it took an hour
