I tend to skip good Amazon reviews and instead read only the lowest rated reviews. This 3-inch buffer pad and backing set received numerous bad reviews regarding product durability. But at such a reasonable price, and with the large number of pads included, I thought I might give them a try anyway.I'm glad I did because these buffing pads and the backing plate performed flawlessly while buffing tight spaces on my fiberglass boat. I used very heavy cutting compound, washed the pads, and continued through medium compound and final polishing compound and finished up buffing stainless steel bow rails. All 6 pads and the backing plate are still suitable for another use or more.

Very useful, for 20 minutes. Fragile to clean. Would not recommend if for intensive use.

I used this for buffing gel coat on my boat. Worked well for getting into small spots the main buffer can’t reach. Firm backing pad works well. The pads last a long time and do the job. They are softer than a normal buff pad but worked fine for cutting and polishing. Will attach to a drill chuck or standard threaded buffer.

These are durable, very cheap, and have great cut. Obviously on a rotary you're not gonna get an amazing finish, some reviewers here seem confused by what these are for. I've tried them on a 12mm DA, and they still cut well with great pad spin compared to foam. Depending on your standards they can finish acceptably on a DA with the right compound, but a final step will probably be needed. Also great for headlights on a rotary since the fibers spin out and wrap around the backing plate allowing you to angle the pad into tight corners.

Quantity over quality. The glue that SPTA use on some of there products is hit or miss. I used a microfiber pad that separated instantly. The glue on these wool pads looked the same but, these pads are holding up so far. They did have a bad smell when I tried cleaning them by hand in warm water.

Besides adding to the toolbox, I am rebuilding my Kirby G5 vacuum. I needed a good polisher for the cast aluminum case. These are holding together well and doing the job.I'm looking forward to using these for car detailing and and other polishing needs around the house that are larger than Dremel territory.
