I'm an experienced felter, always looking for ways to hurry the process along. I like this tool a lot. The needles are well placed to do precision work you can't use an electric needle for. It is comfortable in the hand as well. The top stays on for storage. I have two of them, one with fine needles and one with medium, in my tool box all the time.

Not too fancy but works great! Pen design is perfect and less bulky than traditional ones. Changing Needles can be a bit troublesome so definitely recommend getting 2 or 3 so you can have different sizes without the hassle. So far works like a charm with no issues!

Horribly struggled to open the plastic cap after picking this thing up for the second time ever and it immediately violently broke, peices of the needles everywhere.

Felting is one of the things that I have wanted to try for quite awhile and so with getting this felting gadget I gave it a try. I used a thick felting pad that I had gotten earlier (much like an ironing pad), some felting wool from a prior kit I had gotten, a mold of a butterfly from that same kit, and for some fabric to felt the wool onto, an old silk tie with all of its interfacing removed. I used several different colors of felting wool and even with three needles it took some time to felt the wool into the fabric for a fairly small mold. My right hand didn't enjoy the process at all. But as I have other different needle configurations with other handles, I will be trying them, especially an 8 needle one.I am finding it interesting trying out different crafts and am pleased to have the opportunity to do so. If I try this same needle felter, I may find that it won't bother my hand as much since my pain can be regulated by the weather. The butterfly did turn out okay until I took the mold away. It seems to not have crisp or smooth edges. I think I need to try the process a few more times to see how it goes and if it is something that I would find to be enjoyable to do.I appreciate the opportunity to try this felting pen out.
